After being beaten about the head and shoulders on facebook by Devon, and totally caving to his peer pressure I will accept this challenge and attempt to build something. Not sure what to build, going to go simple this time, but something. Now to go look and see what 2x4 will work best. Here we Go
Good for Devon. Glad to see you join in Pete.
This is a tough call. I already have my winter railroad project picked out (lighting buss and structure lights on the indoor pike) but this challenge fits into my unfinished build project list. I still haven’t finished last year as I am still waiting for router time at work Decisions, decisions. Maybe I should post a napkin to at least get on the list so I can decide late.
Wow, way to go!
The more the merrier!

Bingo.
Dave, if I can get the 2 day and the size reduction I would like them, as I have a bunch of Ipe strips I got last year from guys at a shop doing a trailer floor. And they would work better for what I am planning to make. My RR equipment is 1:29, but built last years BBQ 1:24 since most scale cars are that size. Anyway now to decide what I really want to build, I have some simple ideas and maybe a little more complex one. Ah peer presure and pressure to pick something I think I can finish in the alloted time, the fun of the Mik Cahllange
Peer pressure, Pete?? From this bunch of knuckleheads…Nahhh.
I guess I need to get on the Napkin and come up with a Idea… Hmmmmmm…
After the Worlds Greatest Hobby show I will turn my attention to the challenge. The NMRA Division 2, of which I am a member, is one of the exhibitors at the WGH show this weekend here in Pittsburgh (Monroeville).

Yes? What? Oh yeah, (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)I am adding Pier pressure!
Ok found missing piece of proper size ,(after cutting to 2x4 from 2x8 piece of redwood so I am good to go with same rules of everyone else and hope to come up with suitable napkin for rendering needed plans for whatever the hell I decide that I am going to build. Problem is I keep coming back to something that could be simple it difficult depending on how it is built and the methods of anchoring it . Time for some research and educated guessing , and hoping the peer pressure will let up sone
let up? what does that mean(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif). Don’t worry we be friends.
I’m going to use Pier pressure to hold my crate sail down … I get micro bursts sometimes(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
I’ll let up Pete??? Okay I promise on February 14th, you can be my Valentine and I will let up on the peer pressure
I am thinking of something really difficult, a retaining wall that’s how to answer peeer pressure, may even do a walkway if I have leftover wood!! Lol
That will show us Pete. Just stick the 2X4 on edge on a straight section of track paint it grey and say it is a concrete wall
That’s a great idea Devon! Plan changed !!! I hope to have a idea nailed down by tomorrow and a suitable napkin posted

That really sucks, not just being sick, get well, but because I know for a fact you cut scale lumber more accurately and better than anyone around here. Nobody better try arguing with me on that because don’t forget I got two year’s in a row worth of scale lumber from you as a prize!!! In fact, I had a $200 side bet with Bob McCown that you would win grand prize this year.
