I thought so too. I just need to find that thing I want to use for my “creation”. Now I know I put it somewhere.
Thanks for the added prize package, I think that you should hold up New Mexico RRing and enter this thing. Every layout needs at least an Out House somewhere.
The $30 limit was to try and keep it on the cheep, and within everyones budget, and give us all a little incentive to get off our butts in the dead of Winter and build something. The bragging rights are bigger then the prizes. Remember Mik’s rule #1 applies to all aspects, including choosing the winner.
I’m in. 1:20 for me.
Ron
E-mail sent.
For some of you having all the parts on hand means more beer.
For me the true spirit of MIK is shapes, he saw shapes and combined them for parts. Beads and string, a section of plastic bottle and repurposed items. Popscicle sticks became scale lumber…
I think the door will be the only commercial part of my project…
All musings subject to change…

Arent you in New Mexico, Boomer? I thought it was warm there all the time…
We’re on the California desert where most people think it’s warm. But we’re on the High Desert at nearly 4,000 feet and we’ve seen 0!
I’m in Dave. I need to build a Mine for the Railroad so this gets me going on it.
I’m in 1:20.3, message sent.
Boomer, Boomer, Boomer, Out to the shed… Grab some stuff, Plus a handful of junk, Force march uphill to the casa, Spread a couple layers of the Journal out on the Kitchen table, And Go For IT!..
Kitchen table? I don’t have one of those.
I have a dining room table.
but it has a train station on it, that someday I need to finish building.
With Mik’s Place next door many of the residents of Silver Onyx find it a good place to sit on the merchandise. But that will soon be over as construction is set to begin in less than two weeks on a new building in Silver Onyx. Just what will Silver Onyx residents not have to sit on anymore?
Hopefully I’ll be able to post a picture soon! It posts fine in Chat!
I’ll just start this over and with Ken’s help it will work!
I made a final decision on what I;m building.
A business owner is tired of people sitting on his merchandise. Now he’s anxious for builders to start his new building.
Here’s what he contends with! What am I building?
It never showed that it posted but when I went to another forum page and came back they were there. Go figure. Now you get it twice!
It looks like a casket Doug. Better to be sitting on one than in one.

Dave I would jump in but my shop is unheated / uninsulated and it is way to cold and windy to be out therere…but I will enjoy watching as always
Boomer
Boomer go out to Home Depot and use the $30 to buy an electronic room heater
Sign me up, too! I do 1:32, so may have to trim down the door, unless the group agrees that a door is as big as it needs to be! That’s my belief about windows, too!
So, a pretty small one will do. 1:29 is only about 3% too large.
I’m still where I was last year; address has not changed.
Todd, the town of Silver Onyx needed an undertaker and the Challenge filled a need!
First batch of doors to be mailed tomorrow. There is still time to get in on this thing for those of you that are setting on the fence.
Remember this is to be for the fun of it, so you don’t have to build the Grand Central Station. An Outhouse qualifies.
Grand Central Station, in 90 linear scale feet???
I will attempt to get close to 1:24
My Grandfather, who died 2 weeks before I was born (1946) tended the little station at Adams Station, where my Mom’s family grew up. I have only one picture of the station, and I have to find where I hid the measurements of the foundation which is still there.
It’s in the mail, it really is. All doors have been mailed. Be looking for them from the USPS. All you Canadians, Look for your regular mail. 5x7 yellow envelope.
Remember, Just because you get you door early, doesn’t mean that you can start construction.
BTW The doors are random colors, all can be painted. I made them thick and tough, to hold up to the outside elements. None of those flimsy things that warp in the first hot day of summer.
Rule #1 applies.
