Sorry for blubberin all over but watching my son do this and get rewarded for it words and thanks just dont seem enough!

Awesome

I’m hearing you man. My son helped me paint quite a bit, and gave me lots of compliments, but he wanted to work on his own creation also. I put this picture in my build and I’m repeating it here. In the second picture he’s taking a break at the worktable while I labored on! Awesome indeed.

I did not realize this challenge could be a “team effort”?! ?

Congratulation’s to everyone, very impressive builds.

Congratulations to all the participants and winners! Voting was especially tough and I’m glad to see that favorites picked up an add-on prizes.

Thanks Dave for running a great contest. Maybe next year you will convince my to enter. I’ll give you a hint at what might put me over the edge; a category to Finish a Previously Started Project!

That is a good idea Jon but that was already the theme 2 challenges ago. It would be a good idea to revisit though , I bet we all have something started, stalled and collecting dust.

It was great to follow the builds from so many talented people. What an amazing group you all are!
Here’s to Mik’s memory, and to Dave for his outstanding work on this. Here’s to Rule 1 and to all the prize donors. Here’s to the prizewinners and to all the participants in this year’s challenge. You folks are the greatest!
Congratulations everyone!

Ah, my list of unfinished project was whittled down from 32 to 19 over 2 years. I haven’t counted them lately so its probably about 20. This is my biggest unfinished project to date.

Now that I’m catching up on some other non-train projects it’s time to think about the next build. The undertaker is all alone of his block in Silver Onyx and he wants company!

Congratulations everyone on a great build and keep up the good work!

That’s a beautiful model of Conway Station. You MUST finish it. All the hard work is already done!

John

I apologize as I forgot you had your son involved as well!

I think that’s pretty awesome as my boy is at the age where I suck!

Tell him Jon I already did!

(Maynard… Jon has cut rocks on his table saw he’s a madman)

Outstanding Challenge this year folks it was fantastic!

He cut rocks on a table saw? We have several rock saws and several thousand pounds of rocks he would really enjoy!

John Passaro, send me your address and I will get your prize in the mail.

That is an incredible building David Maynard. My wife and I have visited that station many times to ride the train. My 2 bay engine house build was loosely based on the Conway Scenic RR engine house. I have been considering doing a relief build of this very station.
Finish that build David I want to see it done!

Todd, I want to see it done too. The site where it belongs has a volunteer tree in it now, so the tree will have to become a load for a log car, and cement pad poured. But first I need to shingle the thing and trim out the windows. I also need to find the paint I used, or get some more mixed up to match.

Its too big to work on in my workshop, and that is the excuse I have used as to why it isn’t finished. Truth is, I need to clean off the table on the back porch and work on it during the summer. Now that I have built another building, I think I am in the mood to work to see Fairhaven take shape. And that will be the Fairhaven station. It even has a clock in it that says “Shannon”. Perfect for the Pittsburgh and Castle Shannon railroad.

In honor of our “Fireworks Stand” winner.

I’m wondering if that’s how “Boomer” got his name…

I am confused. Lighting “Halloween” fireworks inside, on a cheap plastic tablecloth he calls a protective cloth…

I really missed something there

David, Cool looking station. I was just watching Trains and Locomotives and they had Conway Scenic railroad featured on the show…Very Nice modeling!.. Travis

That show comes on here on Monday nite and that’s when I saw it…
