And the winners are… ( drum roll inserted here) …
But before that, A word or two from the “Dictator In Charge” of this mess.
Mik’s Build Challenge 2014 has been the best ever, Mik’s smiling at all of us. The builds have been the best in the history of the Challenge. You all stepped up and pulled out your “A” game, for this one. And the clique of “You are all winners” has been tossed around a lot, and it really is true. I wish there were more prizes to pass around.
As I mentioned to several, its not about the size, or the detail, weather its rolling stock, buildings or track, it’s about Rule #1, The build! One of the credits to the modelers here on LSC is that most of us actually get out and build stuff, layouts, Cars, buildings, and our LSC family doesn’t just buy RTR models, put them on the shelf, and set around criticizing the maker for being two rivets short. We get out and run our trains, and have fun at doing it.
Mik’s not with us, but his legacy and what he brought to the LSC family will live on. He taught us more then just what his unusual builds showed. Mik’s modeling skills were, (lets just say) not up to his imagination, but it didn’t stop him from doing. He was happy just doing. Frustrated with lack of resources at times, and his medical handicaps but he built and got a great deal of personal enjoyment out of “The build”, as it let him put aside his other life problems while he built. There is a lesson here for all of us. Thank you, MIk just Mik.
I’m very proud to announce, after the tally was tallied and the napkin was shaken out.
