Just 2?

Best build (of many), as I see it;

St. Francis Yard Office and Tower, by John P.

Best Log goes to the Story teller; Doc Tom’s Fish Camp. The back story supports the front.

Thanks for letting me be part of this Challenge.

RIP Mik

John

I had some tough choices to make. There are some mighty good builds here, but here are my choices…

BEST BUILD Tom Grabenstein Fish Camp Company Store

BEST BUILD LOG Tom Grabenstein Fish Camp Company Store

I think Doc Tom cleaned up! I vote for Tom for both categories!

Best build- John Passaro’s Yard office and tower

Best log- Doc Tom’s company store.

Great job by everyone and thanks Dave for heading this up.

Terry

Best Build- Boomer K’s Bupp’s Fireworks Stand

Best Log-Doc Tom

This was a tough vote. But Boomer’s fireworks just blew me away…and made my eyes hurt just thinking about all the tiny detail work

Doc Tom is a master story teller. Very hard to compete against a master

Fantastic work by everyone.
Ralph

Best build- Boomers, Burpps Fireworks stand. Nice detail. Best - log, Toms fish camp, love the weathering and story. Regards, Ron

I will cast an identical vote as Ralph did above. I totally agree, only he said it first!

The easy part, for me: Doc Tom’s build log was the most engaging and detailed, hands down.

The really tough part: I have favorites that were so well done and captured my interest like Terry’s, Cole’s, John C’s, and a couple of others, and I followed others like Travis’s, David’s, and Ron’s to name a couple where the skill was high and where I learned great new techniques I can’t wait to use. In the end, I’m going with Tom Grabenstein’s fish store as the top build as a good story, faithful recreation, and it fits into its environment perfectly.

A big THANK YOU to everyone for the fellowship and to DAVE TAYLOR for organizing this.

Now I will close my eyes and hit Post Reply!

My votes would be for:

John Passaro’s “Yard Office and tower” as the best build. This model has an incredible “Rail Road feel” to it with beautiful colors, nice weathering and incredible rail road details. Really loved the dogs on the deck…nice touch.

Boomer’s “Bupp’s Fireworks” as the best build log. There are some incredible modeling ideas on figures, scale vehicles, and amazing miniatures packed in to this wonderful story…what a joy.

A very special THANK YOU to Dave Taylor for the wonderful organizational skills that has allowed this Challenge to be so successful this year.

Thanks also to the camaraderie of fellow modelers for making this so much fun…“Rule Number One.”

Doc Tom

This Year was really fun watching all the builds take shape. I had a lot of fun, learned some new things along the way and most of all I had FUN…

It was also tough voting. I went thru the entries many times to finally make a decision…

Build log… Tom Grabenstein… Tom’s Fish Camp Store

Best Build… John Passaro

1. BEST BUILD Tom Grabenstein Fish Camp Company Store

2. BEST BUILD LOG Tom Grabenstein Fish Camp Company Store

A lot of great builds to choose from this year.

Best Build Log Tom Grabenstein Fish Camp Company Store

and after a lot of deliberation

Best Build Boomer’s “Bupp’s” Fireworks Stand (a cracker of an idea)

Mick

This thread seems to be about 1:20.3 models.

The choice has been difficult as there are so many great models that have been constructed.

However, in this category my choice is:-

BEST BUILD - Boomer Keel with his “Bupp’s Firework Stand” and

BEST BUILD LOG = Doc Tom with his delightful cameos in “Fish Camp Company Store”.

A wonderful thing to be part of and honored to be invited to partake.

We are all Winners here, flexing our modelling skills and sharing ideas but Dave Taylor is the tops for providing the doors and for keeping this great challenge that we all enjoyed chugging along.

The competition was MASSIVE this year, there are so many builds that are amazing and it was difficult to choose.

Build: John Passaro

Best Log: Tom Grabenstein

Nice job Everyone.

Best Build- Boomer K’s Bupp’s Fireworks Stand

Best Log-Doc Tom

IMHO, I thought these were the best

Best Build:

John Passaro’s St Francis Yard Office and Tower

Best Build Log:

Tom Grabenstein’s Fish Camp Country Store

I really enjoyed the opportunity to participate. It’s helped further encourage the fam and I to move forward on the NBRR redo x 4.

So many great builds to choose from, it was a tough choice to say the Very Least!

Thanks Mik for inspiring, and Dave for providing!

I think you are all WINNERS and have all done some GREAT WORK.
I cast my vote for Todd Haskins, CAPE COD TODD because he even made detail parts

Thanks to everyone who participated, you all did a great job and I enjoyed reading all of the build threads.

My picks:

Best Build - Boomer K. - Bupps Fireworks Stand

Best Log - Boomer K. - Bupps Fireworks Stand

If I had known this was a Fine Scale contest I certainly wouldn’t have entered what I did. If at all.
