MIK 2026.... And the Winners are

AND THE WINNERS ARE

This years Challenge of Whimsical was the Throw Back Challenge to 10 years ago, And WOW did it bring out the impressive builds… Chris W. went way over the top. and lots of other stuff all the way down to a Rolling Boot, and a fuzzy Cat, and the in-betweens kept getting better as the challenge rolled on…

Great job everyone that entered!!!

The most prestigious annual award is presented

in the honor of the build challenges founder,

Mik just Mik.

Is proudly presented to:

In the true Spirit of “The Mik”, Team Muller took a bit of used Foam and turned it into a Rolling Cat. I’m begining to think that MIK just mite be vacationing in Hawaii…!!! Another well deserved MIK award…!!

The voting for this years builds was down from last year with 30 voters.

The top spot was a run away win over second place, And third was just a 2 point lead over 4th.

The rest of the field had only a few points separating the next 5 entries.

Each vote was assigned a value of:

4 points for 1st place vote

2 points for 2nd place vote

1 point for 3rd place vote

And the winners are:

Vic Smiths Streamlined Loco Squeezed into the winners bracket…

Todds Dog park was yet another of his animated MIKs…

Jims “Get out of my way” rail monster kept the over the top theme rolling along……

AND THE RUN AWAY 2026 MIK BUILD CHALLENGER WINNER…

The WOW factor pushed this loco build over the top…

The close runner-ups were:Cliffs Nugget car, , Todds Boot, and Roosters first MIK build…

Congrats to all those that keep the Spirit of Mik alive.

And we will do it again next year!!!

PS: If the winners would like a PDF copy of their award e-mail me and I will forward a printable file…

Thanks to all who voted for us, but it is TODD, not TOM BRODY. :dog:

So if I were to get both Tom’s and Todd Brody’s votes…

OOPS… I’ll Fix…20 carricators

While you’re at it … please fix mine too. Jim not Tim.

Many thanks to all who voted. It was a pleasure to participate and I can’t wait until next year.

Thanks to everyone who has shared thoughts about Mik and what this contest is about. I think I have a little better of an understanding about the way this competition has evolved. For what it’s worth, maybe we could have a June “no holds barred” build contest?

A scene from the WESL. Camelia is going wild right now.

Thanks Dave, it was great to break out of “prototype mode” and just have fun. And I really enjoyed watching the other builds, we sure have some creative craftpersons here!

Congratulations to everybody, there is some fantastic modeling. Every year I’m impressed what all y’all can do in a short amount of time, considering some of my projects are still unfinished since the 1990s…
