Meteorological Spring - The Offical Thaw Pictures Thead

Heat wave today. Got to 32F today, T shirt and shorts weather. A good portion of the snow has finally disappeared in the open areas. I took my Roundhouse conversion out. First test run on the outdoor layout. Runs great although hooking RC to the throttle will help on the downhills.

GRASS!!! I see grass!!! I see grass!!!

At about 10a local time, spring officially began in California. It was a warm and sunny day, so I went outside to clip some plants which had overgrown the RR during the winter. By the time I finished the pictures, it was 72F, humidity 43%. High predicted for today, 75F. Sign up now for the West Coast Regional Meet in June. Temps will (hopefully) be in the mid-90’s.

Since those snow pictures hurt my elbows just to look at them, I took a few pix showing how “bad” it is out here on the left coast.

We on the east cost hate you Dick.

Has been snowing for the past 3+ hours and doesn’t look like it’s quitting soon.

I suppose it won’t help my cause to say that it’s bright sun, no breeze, and 75 degrees F in my yard. Have to wear sunglasses to go outside.

The downside though, is that I’ll have to go to Canada or the east coast this summer to get a glass of water!

We’ve only had about 40% of normal to date so far. No rain for another week or so, then just a dribble.

We’ve had less than two inches! It sure didn’t bother the weeds on the layout!

And it gets c-o-o-ld in Pinon Hills. I’ve heard tell that you get snow from time to time! Enjoy these days, 'cuz it’ll get over 100 pretty fast.

What thaw haa haa thats funny 25 here in buffalo with half an inch of snow today. On positive side I did see a robin and many flocks of Canadian flying rats aka canadian geese. Now dont get on my case you golfers know what im talking about.

We had a few flurries this winter but that was all. A few winters ago we got three feet which is unusual. Six inches to a foot is normal.

And COLD it has been. In the early 80s it was zero every night for five days. But we are in a warming trend. Probably our coldest night this winter was 25! I only use about a cord of wood to heat the house.

This past week we have been around 70. Nice weather for pulling weeds!

Doug, they are saying we have a CHANCE of showers Wednesday, all of 50%.

Well, the replacement starter came the day we left for York, so with MORE SNOW in the forecast this week, I had to forgo my trains and go outside in the cold and replace the starter.

Boaters know too. At our marina we need to tiptoe through the goose poop!

Re Spring: It was snowing in Enola PA this morning as we were scoping out the NS yard. When I got home most of the snow was gone except a few spots where it was piled and is in the shade.

Forecast for a dump on Wednesday - we are hoping it misses us to the East.

This would have been a nice day to run on the club layout but I did get to run at home. It was 78!

Finally it looks like we will be done soon done with the teases and then plunging back to the teens…

I just need to survive winter like mornings until Thursday!

What a tease. 60 degrees saturday and 32 on sunday. Woke up to 11 this morning and a high of 28 today. Really…

Light snow forecast for SE Wisconsin apparently.

No flocks of Canadian Geese here, just an overpopulation of herring gulls and other sea birds.

The same effect is achieved however.

Shawn, yea, same here. York was nice, in the 60s, then I came home to the 50’s, that’s ok, I guess. This morning on my way to work it was 15. I think I have have had quite enuff of the cold. I wanna play with my new toys, um, er, trains that I bought at York.

You might have to bring them out West. It was 78 today!
