That drop down turntable is an interesting approach. Now you have me reconsidering installing a turntable on my staging yard even though my layout is point to point with no way to turn things at the other end. 
Clever solution to a space available problem. I have installed a couple of half turntable pits to avoid additional construction getting in the way of things but never thought of a drop-leaf install. I did use a drop leaf extension for a while on the end of a siding for cars to clear the switch.
A quick update on the run up to Train op’s tomorrow.
i finally installed the piano hinge on the drop section, and tested it out.
The movable stop sign is in one of three possible locations, to protect the turntable from unscheduled movements. also note the brass plate by end of track. this is used to hold the bridge in alignment.
And finally the 315 is taking water from the new water column in Ridgeway yard.
