That looks very nice, I love the rusty look, Is that steel shim stock, to make the corrugated siding?
and what was your rusting technique.
Dennis
Yes, steel shim stock. You can get it down to .001 in 6 inch wide, 100 inch long rolls for about five bucks. Runs right through the paper crimper, easier than soda cans, and rusts naturally. The rust on the building is two summerās worth of real weather.

Iām not much of a metal guy, so where do you purchase the shim stock from- local store, online, etc??? It looks real good and you donāt have to cut up half a million beer/soda cans before running through the crimper.
-Kevin.
I get mine from Ebay, but McMaster-Carr also sells it (but theyāre a bit pricey)

Might be a tough find used from me as most are going back to chains and not belts. Lexus and Toyota V-6 and V-8 belts will suit the bill for that width. Aināt done one in a few years though.
Dieseldude, I get mine from McMaster carr, I use .003 thick, rolls good through crimper, or makes good standing rib roofing too.

Bob - no promises - but let me look in my junk here - Iāve replaced a few timing belts the past year and may still have the old ones. Iām known for not throwing anything away.

Went through my vehicle junk last night and again this morning - no luck - but if I run across them somewhere else in the mess around here Iāll drop you a note.

Finally found one of them - but itās only 3/4ā wide x 36" long. If this will work, let me know and i will send it on to you.
Draaaaaaging this thread back from the dead. Did a bit more work on the colliery. Now thereās a covered conveyor from the mine to the top rear of the colliery.
Dang, that looks GOOD!
Now, Iām guessing we donāt get to see it in person for awhile. (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-embarassed.gif)
Somebody get the track gang down there and clear the weeds weāve got unobtanium to move!
Looks good BD(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
I scrolled back a bit to catch up and Iām seeing June dates, but not noticing the year and wondering how I missed the thread. Then I notice itās 4 years old (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif)Converyor looks good and adds a lot of realism. Now the unobtanium has a way to get into the colliery.
You need to work on cameras and some on-board. We could run as a Zoom meeting (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
Yet another project Iām working on in the RR downtime. Replacing the windows. Printed them thicker and stronger.
Nice windows! And strong, aināt they?
Have you seen any brittleness creep in on PLA parts left out for some time in the sun? Or maybe youāre using a different material?

I havent seen any brittleness, but the previous version of these windows were painted (as will these). The v1 windows did warp with the heat, so I beefed these up a ton.
Nine out of eleven replacement windows printed. Getting there.
All windows printed, assembled, primed and painted.
Good looking windows!
