Made a bandstand for the town, the blue tape is to hold the roof until the glue dries. The colors were picked by the paint department.
do you have any pics about the making of the wheels?
Bought the wheels on Etsy.com from Wildwoodworkerz they make several sizes. They are laser cut from 1/8" high density wood fiber board and painted black, I will not be leaving it out side.
I have been working on a windmill for the farm. I got the directions from a past issue of Garden Railways magazine.
Congrats Mark, it looks great!
I like the use of copper outdoors because of the patina created with age. Makes for an eye catching structure
Love the Copper! Did you clear coat it or are you going to let it weather?
Going to let it weather, I have not found a clear coat that lasts very long and then it peals and that is ugly and hard to repair. I like the patina when it weathers.
Started working on a signal tower.
For some reason I put some of my buildings in my other thread which was just for the building of the RR.
The hose cart for the fire department. The wheels I buy, the frame is made with copper wire and soldered the hose is a shoe lace with a wood turned end and nozzle.
Mark,
Since you are done with the firehouse, here is a nice “simple” station in Strafford, PA that perhaps you might want to model since you seem to have the gingerbread trim nailed down.
Oh boy that looks challenging and I do love a challenge, I don’t need a second station but I am going to make more houses. I could make it into a house. I just started a bank and the MIK is coming up so I will be waiting to see what that is before I start another building.
