Greetings,

It is with regret that I must inform our customers that after eighteen years Large Scale Online will be closing its doors at the end of the year.

Although LSOL.com and GRblogs.com will shutter their doors on 12/31/2013, several of our other web sites will continue. I hope you will support them.

KadeeCouplers.com
We will continue to sell couplers at the lowest prices and with great customer service.

YouTube.com/gardentrains
We will continue to produce videos on new products, ideas and video layout tours.

HowGardenTrainsWork.com
We will continue to maintain our public site to help get new people into the hobby.

GardenRailroadUniversity.com
Our Bachelors Degrees are awarded by your life experiences or as a gift of love and support for someone you know that is a garden railroader.

I would like to take a moment to thank all of you who have supported us throughout the years. Your subscriptions and purchases have directly supported our family for many years. We are amazed at all of the wonderful Garden Railroads we have had the privilege to visit. I can tell you with certainty that it was an absolute pleasure to be able to deal with such a great group of people.

As always, Thank You for your support.

Yup, no surprise, but long over due after the last fiasco.

Deja Vu…all over again…

Coincidentally the day before I had dropped in to see if there was any thread of interest and noticed how it was really slowing down … 24 hrs later got the email.

It was more of a shock to hear of AristoCraft (as is) closing, but with Lsol it just looked like it was going to be sooner than later.

Always better that a business venture close previous to sucking the coffers dry or pretending to their consumers 'n taking funds with promises that are never able to keep.

Yeah I joined '99 just before they closed and remerged as a for-profit (and could not figure out why people had their panties ‘so in a knot’) personally let it slide and ended up with a no-cost membership . . . . conversed with a lot of decent folk over there, as here over the years !

p.s. surfing the LS sites will just be a little quicker with one less !

I was a member there for the first couple of years back in the hobby (mostly because I didn’t know about this and other sites). There are a good group of people there, I just could not see paying for the same information and camaraderie I get here for free.

Sorry to see LSOL close it’s doors, I was considering giving it another try, but didn’t like the monthly tap on my plastic.

I am a displaced member of LSOL. Yes, its has declined over there a lot over the past few years. I had some good friends over there, and I hope they come over over here so I can stay in touch with them.

I was writing an article for them, but that has been put on hold, since they wont be there long after I finish the article.

There have been several LSOL displaced persons in the last few days. Welcome!

David, your article will be welcome here, as will you. Welcome aboard!

I’m a long ago displaced member (since 2000, I believe) so welcome the displaced members forum…

What is lost in the mists of time to new people in the hobby is LSC and MLS started the last time LSOL threw in the towel. We’re all refugees.

I can remember being at the San Diego GR Convention where what to do about LSOL pulling the plug overnight was discussed at length.

Three Large Scale sites came out of those discussions.

I can also remember LSOL objecting most strongly to any sort of individualism being displayed by members, especially when it came to our own personal logos. “He” wanted a sameness of box cars. I had an upside down logo at LSOL which I still use to this day.

Welcome aboard David new friends are always welcome.

You survived your trip outdoors!

Ya Doug my battery operated underwear worked great. Got any snow yet?

It’s just getting ready to.

Welcome David

I know, that was before I joined. There was some “tension” between LSOL and MLS. Thats why I phased my first post the way I did.

Ok I’ll bite… What is an Infamous Leg Lamp?

It’s a major award.

I’m assuming it’s the one from the movie “A Christmas Story”

You can buy your own…though I can’t imagine why anyone would want it…
