Loop Rebuild

“I need to work out!”

Sounds like he was. Tell him to stop by at Christmas and you guys can go to the “Gym” again. That is if the snow isn’t too deep. Looks like you resolved the problem with that one tree, at least. I’ve got one in the neighbors yard that could take out the railroad and the house. However, we love the shade it creates.

Nice 70 degree weekend here. Yesterday, and this morning, I was burning brush, but this afternoon, I got some RR work in. Just about done rebuilding the loops. This view looks toward Majestic. The stub track on the left was the lead to the mine and company store. Its now a stub siding, but will turn into the branch line that works its way down the hill into the woods.

A little further uphill from Majestic. The bricks and 2x will be the height of the viaduct, and town thereon.

A look right from the last picture. Track climbs the grade here. This will all be fill and rock wall, with a path going around to the right.

Another shot further upgrade. You can see the far benchwork and bridge for the upper track.

And an overview showing all three levels. The track leaving Majestic, the bridge OVER Majestic, and the upper viaduct.

Much hauling of rock and dirt is now needed…

Looking good. That steel bridge looks great where you have it… Kinda wish I had some of your rock tho… Have to go miles to find any here.

Kindova bitch havin to go through all that again, ain’t it? The nice part is ya get to fix the problems you’ve encountered with the old track.

And enjoy this nice weather while your doing it…

Yep, and this is eliminating a lot of the track that was up in the air, and replacing it with lower. Less height for Bruce’s locomotive to fall…

Hope it's fixed by September. :D

Nice Bob. This weather is amazing for this time of year. We have to be a month ahead of schedule. Most years my ground would still be frozen.

Nice curve! Looking good.

Might have to have another spring work session!

Lots of progress on all three threads. It’s all looking good Bob.

Got 5 ton of rip rap delivered today. This stuff is 6-15", so a good collection of sizes to build some natural-looking walls with. Should keep me busy for the next few weeks.

I don’t envy you having to haul all that down to the layout…or you could save it till the kids home from college…

Nice looking rock…

Made me tired just looking at it.

We’ll just call you Rocky!

yep now he’s on the rocks.
