Large Scale Central

Loop Rebuild

Bob, Am I seeing a curved track on a deck truss bridge? Oh My, de ja vou., all over again.

Looking great, I’m so envious of all the space you have to run on.

Bob that area looks great. Its going to be a perfect photo spot. The rock work looks great.

Dave: a ballasted through truss. Im cheating, I dont want to build 21 feet of hand laid bridge ties if I dont have to!

Curious why you couldn’t just hang everything from bottom of the PVC roadbed. Excuse my ASCII art of an end view, didn’t feel like uploading a drawing…

Then Fill it all with ballast. Granted it would be more ballast and more weight and would require something substantial to be the bottom piece.

EDIT - OK, that didn’t work. It looked fine in preview but when it posted all the spaces were compressed out.

Never mind

This morning I drilled all the holes for the footing bolts.

Do you really think they need to be screwed down?

If your winds blow as hard as ours do sometimes…

Just don't stand too close to it... :P  :D :)

Hey folks Done a bunch more rock/fill work, more concrete block sub-supports, and some brick facing done.

Here you can see the concrete block that will be the backing for the next arch bridge pair. The spline underneath is for the future branchline. Needed to account for it now.

Very nice Bob.

And put some final ballast on one side of the bridge over Majestic

Ya’ know you can always find a spot for the Aristo freight depot …looks good

Looks real good Bob. Looks like you’ve been busy.

Love the rock work!

Thanks. Coming along nicely, I think. Lots of fill to move a wheelbarrow load at a time, but the rocks stack up nicely.

Some more work this weekend.
