Ummm…
Since it appears the blocks are Mogul blocks, do as other Garratt builders have done, order two from TW and build away!
Less bits to throw away that way.
Local chap has a bunch of Garratts, ex-LGB blocks, Bachmann blocks, all sorts of stuff.

Looks like the cab from a Mikado to me.
You’re right. If you distort Warrens pic, you can make out the roof vents.

However, this guy has no problem with that at all.
He simply makes the parts he needs or uses some other manufacturer’s valve gear.
He takes various cylinder assemblies, modifies them to suit (JBWeld springs readily to mind).
You whack off the top of the cylinders (valve body) on the Mogul block (included from TW), glue a proper diameter plastic tube where you want it, tape the ends, fill with JB Weld, when cured, grind a file to fit.
So, $260 or so (last I looked) for a pair of motor blocks.
If you go to spotted deer to see prices, when an interurban no sound is $850, best be VERY rich.
I’d scrap out some junkers for cylinders from some other manufacturer if it was me, or just get parts.

I also considered using the Bachman Annie.
Fortunately, time is on my side. I’ve just started building a Double Fairlie using a pair of Bachman Porters so it’ll be a long time before I can start on the Garratt.
