The wait was over two weeks ago! Garden Railways arrived like a broken clock..... TIC, TIC, TIC, but no TOC!
Hey! You can actually read.....with comprehension, then? You cover is now permanently blown.

But I will ofer this:
Old Jaguars, while requiring attention, require far less that any LS manufacturer whose equipments I have had to work on…or who I have had to deal with.

Still cannot believe you and Marvin keep trying to put down the new owners.
Amazing.

You mean the new Investors- owners intend to own the company not just rent it for a while and then sell it for a profit.

Gotta pretty things up to sell that IPO. It’s a shame your not as critical of Maerklin’s PR as that of other companies I’ll believe it when we see some product coming from them - and I don’t mean stuff being finished up in China from before the EPL bankruptcy!. Only thing we’ve seen is a publicity photo taken when they marched thier dealers through the place.

Would you believe there are other accounts with pictures? Just not in official circulation. Funny, eh!?! BTW regarding the “411” that’s being assembled, I’d like it even better if it would have that great big resistor grid in the middle of the roof like the prototype.

Doesn’t look like that part is in the bins.

Steve,
as regards sound synchronisation, then factory sound fitted to the more expensive LGB is generally quite good. On the sound tender and American 2-4-0/0-4-0 tender-eqipped locomotives, then the intitial chuff signal is triggered by starting voltage on both analogue and digital boards. The starting voltage on the 65XXX series digital sound boards is unable to be altered by adjustment of CVs. A higher input start voltage would synch the chuff initiation to motor start voltage. To correct this on both analogue and digital boards, then the sound board could be duped by way of diodes. Each diode (apart from the expensive Shotky? diodes) will drop the input voltage by 0.7 volts. Thus by installing diodes in the input wire to the board one could result in a higher start voltage for the motor and a corresponding reduced voltage (by way of diode voltage drop) to the sound board. By experimenting one could come up with the required number of diodes to achieve this and thus have synchronised sound. The synchronisation would apply to the start characteristics of only one loco only as each loco has a different relative start voltage. I have a circuit which minimises the required number of diodes (with consideration for forward and reverse direction).

That’s the pic!

Perhaps next week? Will have to wait 'til next week, for sure, for sure. :D :P :D

As I wrote “Just not in official circulation.”

As I said- I’ll believe it when I see it!

Are you applying for a job at the Märklin LGB repair shop?

John,
or should that be ‘doubting Thomas’, sometimes one simply needs to have faith and simply believe. If LGBoA had of been successful in their tender bidding (I am not really sure that they actually wanted the whole shebang, in the first instance, as they always came up a few Euro short of the winning tender bid - strike 3, your out!), then no doubt production would have commenced immediately, as the infrastructure was already established in China. That of course would rely on outstanding accounts being settled with the Chinese manufacturers for unpaid tooling.

As you wish to propogate this discourse further, then money flowed freely when lawyer Jacob, unsuccessful at the tender bid, purchased the share of LGBoA held by publicist, Dave. Did Jacob know something the rest of us were not privy to? No conspiracy theory, just questioning the business transactions surrounding the failure of EPL. The sacrificial lamb was lead to the slaughter in 2007 to get him out of the way (a simple partnership could have had EPL in the hands of LGBoA for most likely a lot less than Marklin eventually coughed up), then the boys thought we are going to pick up a bargain. The bargain ended up being too costly and a seemingly half-hearted attempt to secure the ownership of the company, resulted in the fiasco we have today. I personally wanted LGBoA to be successful, as they, in my opinion, were the natural inheritors of the empire. I am prepared to await the outcome with Marklin leadership, but to me, it is like a ship with the wind taken out of its sails. I am losing interest as even though the products will look the same they really are not 'original' LGB. The mystique of LGB was not simply the product, but the atmoshere created with its loyal workforce and strong quality control business ethics. This cannot be recreated in today's society.

Didn't I write "you have no idea what's cooking with my other hobbies!" ??? :D ;) Don't even start to guess! We all have seen/read how "good" you're at "reporting" the "real situation". :D :D "Waiting for next week" is a mug's game!

BTW congratulations on your apparent advancement to moderator on the Family Feud Forum. What a line of successions: Bluffington, McMoron and now the Kollektor … sheesh

Marvin,

What’s the problem? It will be “Next week”, no sweat! That’s like “Domani, Domani” to the Italians.

You can't begin to imagine how little I care. The market for bilingual geriatric porn is too small to measure.

Jack,
you are showing your age!

Sorry ,had not been keeping up on all of the threads about LGB. Did’nt really care much since I own little of it. I also sent in a Mikado like Jim and some Stainz gears. I figured I would get the education of others here as to whats happening… Condensed version !

Bryan,

The “slight delays” in the LGBoA repair department have been mentioned for some time - as usual roundly poo-pooed by those who supposedly “know”.
Don’t be surprised if your item is returned without being repaired, that can easily happen if they don’t have the required parts. Nothing to do with patience - it’s just the way it is, no parts, no repair. I doubt that they’ll rob Peter to pay Paul in order to fix things for which they have no parts. OTOH if you get things repaired, good show! let us know about the bill, too.

Although I know I should get out alot more, I find this thread highly entertaining. I never though I’d see the day when a connection was made between LGB and “geriatric bilingual porn”. Still, you learn a new thing every day, even if it might be totally useless.
Seconds Away - Round 3!

Sheesh Jack,

You could have fooled me and others.

OTOH since I had fans since age 18, I’m used to my picture being kollekted, the only surprise is: a “Ventilator” instead of a fan!?! WOW!!!

But back to the topic: it will be interesting to read the total elapsed time for JC’s and Bryan’s repair and what the total charges are. Especially since I keep on reading that there’s a stipulation in US law about providing spare parts. I guess LGBoA could always scour the OEM market to find the necessary parts.

Since Lehmann provided the warranty, I suspect Märklin purchased that problem. Time for them to step up to the plate! The last year and a half of free goodwill from LGBoA apparently has come to an end.

Wishful thinking Jack. That's not the way it works, even if you wish that your special buddies would get off the hook that easy. :D

As I said it’s a bitch!  Those are the subtle differences in law, but I realize that is of little interest to “Ventilators”!

I think you are confused. Your photo was filled in my "Eagle Beak" collection. It was just too hilarious to pass up!

Confused? Only when I read

Or did you print it at such a large resolution and size that it “filled” your Kollektion? Sheesh Jack, you didn’t really need to! :stuck_out_tongue:
