Isn’t that what investment bankers do ?
Isn’t what investment bankers do?
Tony,
For a world traveler like your self & you do not know what investment bankers do??
Whether ho does or doesn’t isn’t the question.
The question is, can he get a straight answer out of whoever is behind name #2.
I guess because I speculated on a straight answer, that makes me an investment banker.
Call it an educated guess.
Guess maybe. I don’t know about you being educated.
So funny I forgot to laugh!
I’m laughing, do you need help?

He could always call his seven year old (?) to help him appreciate the joke.

You’re right- my seven year old could explain how funny your elementary school level humor is !
John Joseph Sauer said:Yes Marvin, most kids at that age have a better developed humour than you. For you it seems to be "whooosh, there goes another one, straight over the head!"

You might have a point there HJ- but put a hat on and it won’t show!

Interesting post today on a German Forum, person ordered some parts from LGB® Märklin in Nürnberg. The service was speedy and the usual goodwill was extended i.e. inclusion of parts free of charge that weren’t ordered but possibly could/would be required.
Märklin is smart; they kept the repairs/service department more or less intact. What a nice contrast!
Okay Mr. LGB!
Hoop-Dee Do! The manufacturer supplies parts for THIER product - how extraordinary!
Now let’s see if they can supply parts for some of the older products.

Hihihi
I meant to write what a nice contrast to the LGBoA/Silvergate outfit who accepted repair work, was really tardy in replying to inquiries - reminds me, are they still on Holidays or can they now be reached by non-secret means? - and then finally returned the stuff - unrepaired and with parts missing! Long may the customers live who got that treatment and may they remember well!!

Well I got a call today about my engine. The gal calling left a message saying she was from LGB of A accounting Dept. Thought that was interesting !Wanted to know when I was going to pay the bill so they could ship. I left a message back to her about any warranty coverage ( just had to ask ). I told her I had not called the last few weeks because I knew they were moving. She called back ,sorry no warranty coverage, they wanted to know if I was going to get the repair as they had another buyer for the gear box replacement. So I broke down and said ok go ahead and fix it after I asked what was going to be repaired exactly. I had removed the front and rear wheel sets for shipping, they replaced them at no charge to have a whole unit to test for repair. Plus I get the gears for the stainz gears I sent in. So for $200 it’s finally done. I told her I had not called the last few weeks because I knew they were moving. So I finally after 3 months !
Today, two weeks, four days after my Mikado was returned [from service - unrepaired @ 8wks] without the bell and harp, I received replacements. That works out to the two weeks James T. said would be necessary for Silvergate to get settled in the new building plus four days for shipping. Repair Case closed. Time elapsed: 11 weeks total from date I first shipped the Mikado to LGBoA [as named at that time].
