I don’t think so With a little detective work, I have discovered the real purpose of the “lean-to”

Looks like a great place to hang out. And like Randy says, this will be a great place for your kids to play when they get a bit older. My oldest never had the opportunity to hang out and build forts etc. in undeveloped land. My youngest did until he was about 12 and they built a house in “his woods”.

I got some more done on the lean to. I got tied up with the holiday and not being able to cross the creek because of some heavy rain. Before the holiday I got the overhang framed out and started to put the sides up using plywood. After the sides are covered up I will put the roof on the overhang and then add the metal roof overtop the plywood. The finishing touch will be some rough cut siding and two post on either end of the overhang so I can hang some lanterns on. Then I will start working on the inside but that wont be until spring. Hard to believe its almost Jan and we have no snow on the ground and the temps have been in the 40’s for the most part. We should be in the 20’s for highs this time of year.
Shawn?? nice little passenger station… when do you lay the tracks for the ““Ride-On”” train??? hehehe
SHSHSHUSH…January is a-coming…so is Feb and March!!
Dang Shawn, if you get a door bell on there you can call it home. Nice work

Thats a nice one Tom. There a few Appalachain trail shelters by me. The one below is the Mashipacong Shelter and is about a mile from my house. It was built by the CCC (Civilian conservation corps) during the depresion. There are two like this by me. I love the stone work and beams. The stone is all local and the beams are from the chesnuts before they were killed off.
