Large Scale Central

Laying new line begun

Just the yard section so far but it is a start. Posed my ol’ Nw2 for a few pics. It should go quick as the roadbed is all in place. Accucraft code 250 SG track w/1:32 ties not the 1:29 and SVRR #8 switches.

Looking good there Larry, how did you build the yard area?

Looking really great Larry.

Chuck, Foundation? In this part of the RR the line is raised 24" …4x6 posts, 2x12 backing lumber then filled to within 6" and topped with stone dust. That wall has been there for 20 years now. After many years of fooling around I’ve discovered that the best solution (for me) is simple stone dust road bed and Split-Jaw clamps and let the thing float. When the ballast moves out I just sweep it back in with a kitchen broom or a brush around the switches.

Oh that looks fine Larry! I really like the weathering on your cow-calf diesel too.

looks nice, larry…

Looks good

Looks great.
I really like the motive power too.
Ralph

…grinning…

Thanks guys. More pics as stuff happens

Hi Larry
Looks great. Glad to see your back at it. Hope to see more as you go… Todd

Gee, that looks great!

Well the main loop is done…13 switches 520 feet of track. Gotta work on the boat now  :frowning: Seed pods every where which the leaf blower will take care of. Switch throw thingies on the way other wise we could run. The mainline is 330feet so the rest of the track used so far is sidings and passing sidings.

Wow. Very sharp.
I have no throws on my switches. Run that way all the time.
Just counted 23 switches yesterday. 13 shouldn’t be a problem
