GSM is on the way back, large info sheet published by the owner, Jason. Forums should be back over the week-end.
Good to see! And a Happy Birthday 2 U 2, Bob!
For those interested, GSM is back on line, while it is totally different to LSC, I like to visit to see what our British cousins are modelling.
Danny,
I still get that “This menu has been disabled” for the Forum; did you get in?
It works - you have to sign back in with your user/id initially…I got in with no problem.
Hans, no trouble getting in, just type in your name and password, and you are in, just like before, it still remembers me from this morning, as before, try again, it does work.
I didn’t have to sign in at all.
I clicked on Forum. Another frame opened with some text. At the bottom was another button. FORUM LINK.
I clicked on that and I was in to the forums.

I sent an email and I’m waiting for a reply. No sweat!
I think it maybe the fact that you’ve been banned from the site HJ.
Sniff…Sniff…Hmmmmm. The distinct odor of a troll…

Troy is a “very special friend of mine”, so special in fact he assumed my identity on the one forum and was promptly sent packing. I discovered a few more of “my very special friends” on GSM. Best not to go there!
If this wouldn’t be an open forum, I’d even post the email I finally received from GSM - only took three emails from me to get a reply - mind you it wasn’t signed. That’s always a dire indication.
HJ,
quoted from Troy’s biography - “General G scaler. Loose ethics, like trams.”. This says it all. I would think that Troy is a moderator on the said site or close to the site owner as he is in possession of personal information that is not available to those ‘not in the know’. My recent unfair treatment on another forum site, leads me to believe that political correctness is basically flawed, as to be politically correct these days, one has to agree with the status quo. This assumes that the status quo are infallible. As every Catholic would be aware only the Pope is infallible and only in relation to religious doctrine. Therefore political correctness is, in fact, incorrect.
It sometimes seems an unfortunate choice of those chosen to be moderators.
But, I cannot imagine Jason using him as a moderator.
Very odd set of circumstances.
EDIT: I checked, he isn’t.
One of the big reasons some of those “other” people don’t get along here is the fact that those who reside here and participate as regulars are people who think for themselves, march to nobody elses drum and are willing to speak their piece regardless of who may or may not agree. There’s no puppets here.
I don’t know what there is in this hobby for anyone to get so dogmatic about. Scale vs Toy? 1:20 vs 1:22 vs 1:29 vs 1:32? Finescale vs “Gummie” scale? LGB ventilators vs LGB bashers? It’s all just opinion and personal preference, and none of it has any effect on another person’s ability to engage in, and enjoyment of, the hobby.
At least in rocketry, when we have flame wars it involves (directly or indirectly) rules and regulations which actually CAN affect another person’s participation in the hobby.
But then, trolls rarely are rational and there are always those individuals who feel threatened by anyone whose opinion contradicts their own.
Warren Mumpower said:I'm sorry but how does Troy's comment constitute a troll? All he did was post a reply which was not rude in anyway.

If that’s alright with you

I bet that would put a severe crimp in your style.
