Rod,

I really like that one.

Reminds me a bit of what a friend experienced at a revolving restaurant at the top of a tower - you know, the tourist trap kind.

A rather loud and boisterous party of people who sound Germanic are asked by someone at an adjacent table if they are German (apparently they sounded like it).

“Oh no, we are not!!! We are Swiss!!!”

And along the line taken by Warren

   I think that is the gist of it!

A bunch of old goats…but not a sheep in sight…

All that is neccessary for the furtherance of bollocks, is that good goats do nothing…

…to heck with trying to “Out animule the animules”…!!!

I'm a miserable old fart, and enjoying my being very much.

I avoid posting at “Other places”, because I think for myself, and this seems to irritate the masses over at the other places as they seem to have that herd instinct, when it comes to the simple act of “Thought”.
They also seem to lack humour. What is a hobby, mixed with living; without humour ?

It could be said that I'm far from being a "Bigot"; because I dislike everyone equally......!!!!........so much for political correctness.......

Another truth is; that I actually like a few people; but I won’t make their names public as it might ruin their reputations…!!!

Warren said it all…in such a nice way !!!

Thank you Fred!

The voice of reason and experience; he knows how to spell, too. Most of the time.

BTW one of my next projects is a stable for goats - yeah, yeah you’ve all seen the Heidi movie so you all know just how smart goats are.

On the behaviour of sheep, living in rural Ontario for 18 years I got reacquainted with the “habits” of various creatures. Sheep are just not “smart”, that’s all there’s to it. Mind you, Holstein cattle isn’t very high up on the “smarts” scale either. What, a toss-up between stupid sheep and dumb cows?

Then of course, Hans; there are my favourite targets; "TWITS".....they are so easily twisted into knots; stirred into frenzies, and frustrated to the point that all fact is lost.

I consider them as part of the grass eating bunch; best left out in left field in the care of a sheep dog, and herd Donkey.

I wonder if any of them were to read any of our descriptions; would they recognise themselves !!!..or was it not nice to ask…I thought so…glad I asked. !!!

The intelligence of an animal is easily verified when an animal is placed head first against an obstruction. A dumb animal will continue to headbutt the obstruction trying to make a path. An animal with a degree of intelligence will either back away from the obstacle or attempt to burrow under it. When seen in context, the general level of intelligence/blind obediance, as expressed on several sites recently, follows the line of an animal with a degraded level of intellectual development, with a single-minded purpose. Thank God that we are not all sheep.

Just informed by another member that TAC is next on the ‘hit’ list. The scenario on MAD Forum reminds me of Hitler’s revenge after the failed assasination plot on his life. Anyone who voices the slightest ‘opposition’(?) is told to vacate their locker as they are not playing on the team anymore. I can understand a wilingness to clean up bad, rude behaviour but after reading the posts from both TAC and HJ, exactly where has anyone put a foot wrong. As stated by HJ prior to his dismissal from the MAD Team, you would need to be a sheep to understand being a sheep.

This moderating behaviour is familiar to another forum site where the gun-toting administrator keeps a firm lid on any sign of a difference of opinion breaking out and spoiling his day. It may not be censorship but it certainly smells that way when moderation stifles any debate.

Dear Mr Brien - I have gone. The illiterate cake-eaters and xenophobes have won.

This is the text I sent to the website, and to a person whom I had previously considered to have been friendly.

Quote -

I have just received a PM informing me that my posts do not meet the new standards required of posters on this forum, in particular, my comments on the K1.

Since I cannot find anything in my posts that would cause offence to anybody, and try to be as polite as I can be, I therefore take this as a slap on the wrist for forming an opinion that is unwelcome on this forum.

Since I am entitled to express a reasonably-worded opinion, I can only assume that the new rules do not allow for any opinion to be expressed that runs contrary to the views of the overseeing moderators.

To those of you who have helped me and offered advice, my grateful thanks, and you know where I am. To them, and to the rest of you on the forum who never had anything to do with me, I wish you all well.

In other words, I’m off.

I may be the first to go, but I’m pretty sure I won’t be the last.

Goodbye.

XXXX - I have no idea what prompted this bollocking, but I do not take well to it. Life really is too short.

H-J, Warren, Steve, Fred, Marve, Mik & Mart, Neil, Rod, Ron and my numerous other friends on this forum - I’m an easy going kind of guy 'cept when somebody craps in my hat, and I really did try, over the last couple of years or so, to offer my many years of knowledge to the betterment of the GSM website, and to increase the general sum of knowledge of those who posted there with a query that I felt qualified to answer. When corrected, I said thank-you - nobody knows everything. I took the snide remarks of the xenophobic ‘mariazellarbahn’ on the chin, and put it down to sheer envy, although, for the life of me, I never could not understand why he, with his acres of track and hundreds of trains, was jealous of me and my teeny train layout.

Before I left the GSM, I looked over all my posts, to see where I had gone wrong, and as Mr Brien notes [thanks for even bothering to look, BTW], I could find nothing that would have caused offence - even if you were really looking to pick something out.

Like it says on the top of the menu of this site - ‘sometimes you’ll need a thick skin here’. Well, Marve and me, we know what that REALLY means, and it sure as hell don’t apply to a toy train site, no matter how we phrase it. Life really IS too short to be given the finger by a bunch of numbnuts who ‘can’;t eeven spel my name’.

Talk to ya later, eh?

Best wishes to all, with malice toward none.

Sad!!!

Perhaps they , like me , are suspicious of anyone who associates with goats . Especially if wearing wellies . You are not a goat man as well , are you ? Whatever you do in private is nobody else’s business, and after you with the wellies .

Mike

TAC,

You’re in good company - at least all my friends consider me good company, they like to laugh, too. Hmmmm you sure were verbose. I guess since your missive was so eloquent, I’ll add my short one, too

Gentlemen,

Thank you for the clarification!

I believe Albert Einstein had it right when he said:

“Um ein tadelloses Mitglied einer Schafherde sein zu
können, muß man vor allem ein Schaf sein.” (To be an
impeccable member of a flock of sheep, one, most of
all, needs to be a sheep)

So true, so true!

Cheers, eh!

To get a reply took three emails of inquiry and the intervention of a friend asking for clarification.

BTW I’ve given up commenting on spelling in fora. Except mentioning exemplary exceptions like Fr. Fred who rarely “trips up”. Why he spells “beer” as “bheer” I haven’t figured out yet, but there’s probably a very logical reason.

Not a goat of a chance there, my old pal. ;)

What size d’ya take, anyway?

tac

Hmmmm…WTF is ‘demaenor’?

Also, wenn ik den’einen ‘Aanfaal von Antwortslust habe, setzte ik mich still’ in d’ecke und warte bizs d’Aanfaal vorbei ist.

Old Nordrheinische saying that I often adopt.

I couldn’t be bothered to ask why I had been censured. The 10% of the posters there who understood more than 10% of what I ever had to say can figure it out for themselves.
