Yes Millie…you can have Mommie and Daddy back…all the strange people have left…
What a blast you guys had! And Ric, your layout looks better and better each time I see piccies of it.
Thanks Ric!
Man I had fun at your Operating Session! Thank you for the invitation and expert advice you all gave. I never dreamt you could actually run trains with purpose like that. It was beyond just one’s imagination, I am already looking forward to next spring’s operating session. I only hope I have something battery powered by then. My kids are still talking about it and boy did I get my exercise! Thank you all for making us feel at home.
Thanks Ric and Jan, your hospitality was outstanding!
(did the pyro ever get his socks dry from the dip in ye fishpond? hehe)
John: You’ll find that some of us are operations snobs. I got tired really early in just running trains around in circles (I have a copy of Bruce Chubb’s “Operating your Model Railroad” that I bought in 1977) and always design with operations in mind.
If you need to get your RR into operations shape, just let us know! We’ll be glad to help.
It was a wonderful weekend, good weather, good friends and lots of trains… Just finished breakfast with Ken & Bart, so they are now on their way back home… Unfortunately, I never remembered to take up my camera, so I got no pics…
Andy! Shame on you…!!
Andy Clarke said:Bart got plenty of pix.....(he had a slide show goin in the chat room last nite)......where he got the time is beyond me as we were pretty busy both days. Me, on the other hand, got about 6, which usually happens at these things.

I can’t thank Ric & Jan enough for letting us in on this thing. All the gang in Illinois made us feel very welcome and we had a blast.
BTW Andy, I’m still trying to figger out how a Yardmaster goes on strike…
I hope you guys take the time to post the pictures. I know there were some taken. You guys are always welcome.
Just trying to figger out the best way to post 'em without bringing the folks that are still on dialup to their knees…I fiogger about 40 some usable shots…
I do about 5 or 6 to a posting.
Another idea would be to put them in an “Article” with only 5 or 6 to a page.
Glad you guys made it back all right… Enjoyed talking and running trains with ya both…
Ken, I always go on strike, sometime during the ops session, it’s kinda become an “Andy” tradition…
But, when it’s 5:45 pm and getting dark out, it’s time to go on strike… <or when your hungry, thirsty, wanna catch up on a ball game, see what other people are doing, get warm, stay dry, sit down and rest, etc, etc, etc,> There’s all kinda of reasons… hehehehe
or, just wanna be a pain in da butt…
of course, it didn’t rain, not even an acorn or two, that I noticed…
A bunch of pictures were posted in an article by Bart. Kind of nice to see how someone else sees your railroad.
