That’s smokin!
Nice work Rob!!!
Fantastic.
A pair of em would certainly invoke the WOW factor.

Hi all. Thanks again Jon for the picture posting.
As you can see this is the body before I take it for molding tomorrow. You can see a shot of the inside there where I have thickened it out using plaster, the cab walls are a little thinner but the rest is around 1/4 inch or more, especially around the nose, making for a very strong body. I have had quite a lot of interest in the D&RGW version so I’m just about to make a master for the large headlamp surround on the nose, this will be probably cast in white metal and make conversion to this type very easy. The truck side frame is nearly done and the Decals are designed and ready for printing. The etched roof fans and grills have also been designed and are being made as we speak!
Now I am further down the road of dealing with suppliers, it looks like the kit cost will be far closer to £300 than £400, which is good news in these current times.
Ralph, the only thing better than a pair of these would be three of 'em roaring and smoking along!
Cheers
Rob
Trying to show pic. not sure if it will work… but here is another pic that Joel Harrison gave me to put in.

Hi all.
Just to say all the work is now done on this loco project. I have had all the costings in at last and now can set the price of the kit as £345 UK pounds, plus shipping. The first body casting will be here by the weekend, along with test castings of the truck frames in resin, although the one’s in the kit will be white metal. The decals arrived from the States yesterday and look great. The desks are being cast this week in resin and all the small lost wax brass castings are being done this week too. The etchings for the roof radiator grills and fans have turned out very well.
So that is that, I have emailed Jon Radder some shots of parts to post here like the lost wax parts mounted on their trees, the truck master, the fan and grill etch and the desks too. I will have some more pics to share as the other bits arrive.
If anyone is interested in a kit then please email me directly.
Thanks for looking and I hope you found the project interesting to look at and read about.
Cheers
Rob
Thanks Noel for the proto pic…that thing is so cool!
So I’m a lazy idiot what does that equate to in U.S. currency? It appears to be about 1 apple high and 4 hands long?
Once again incredible work Rob!
Nice looking kit.
As of today GB£345 = approximately US$560.

Something about this is creating an expectation to see Captain Nemo.
Rob sent me some new photos. I need to update some file names and re-size a few. I’ll try and post them in the next few days.
How are these fantastic engines progressing? Are you shipping yet?
Ron sent me another batch of photos weeks ago. I have been lax at getting them posted. I’ll try and do so tonight.
Hi Chuck and others!
Things have been very slow here due to the UK suffering from a mini Alaskan winter! People couldn’t get to work, the postal systems shut down and it all decended into general chaos! I have the brass castings, decals, cab interiors, etched fans and grills all in stock now. I have the first body out of the mold which arrived right before Christmas, and funny enough a set of white metal truck frame castings came today! So I now know that all the tooling works and I’m just waiting for the rest of the bodies to turn up along with the other truck frames. I expect the first 10 will fly out the door pretty quickly judging by the interest so far, so I will be ordering a second batch after the first one is sold.
Cheers
Rob

Wish I could afford one, so unusual and SO well made.
Sure looks nice. I remember the SP units years ago. Just wonder what trucks made here is the states would fit this unit? Later RJD
For all the ones who are into kit building and purchasing this unit, you are definitely going to have very cool lookin’ unique loco !!
doug c
RJ, there is a post here or on the G Scale Central site in the UK what motor blocks work real good.
I believe that Rob stated that the LGB Alco diesel #2055 6-wheel trucks were perfect for the loco.
Thanks Jerry. From all that I read it can become a bit pricey especially if thinking of using LGB trucks. Later RJD
