Good Luck Shawn!

Hopefully you make out better then I did when we closed on our current house.
The day of the supposed closing I received a call (about a hour before the scheduled closing) that the bank had LOST my mortgage application…yes…LOST.

Vincent, the bank lost our first mortgage payment. It seams the check arrived before the mortgage was set up in their computer, so the lady who handles that stuff just put the check in her desk drawer and forgot about it.

On the purchase of our first house we were to be there @ 9am and around 4am the wife sprung up in bed and said" We forgot to get the check!!!" She sat @ the front door of the bank, I went to the closing to confuse/hold them up … all went well!

OK so it’s funny closing stories. For the first house we bought - in my former life - the lawyers popped a little surprise at the closing: “Oh, the cheque needs to be certified. But we can get that done, no problem. For a Can$2.50 fee”

The bank statement arrives with the canceled cheques, but for some reason the cheque to the lawyers has not been certified.

Ex-SWMBO got on the phone and told the lawyers very firmly but politely that we expected a Can$2.50 refund, which arrived in due time.

All the best on the big day, Shawn!

Im back online again. Got the internet hooked up today. The closing went very well on Thursday. The movers were 5 hours late and didn’t get done till just after midnight. Spent the last two days unpacking and we still have a lot to do ugh… I did manage to get he micro layout set up  and I have plans for steam track in the basement. Hopefully start it in the winter when I cant work on the garden layout.

Keep your eyes open for ground breaking on the new railroad (need some fresh air in between packing)

Glad to here every things going to plan.

Shawn, unpacking is always fun… I had boxes that weren’t opened for years after we moved. When I finally opened them I discovered stuff that I had forgotten that I had.

Nice to hear that things are progressing in the right direction.

Congrats Shawn, It’s got to be very exciting. Have fun with it all.

last time we moved was ten years ago.
i still got unopened boxes with toys …errr… modell railroading accessories standing around.
