Test fit 2nd Arch;
Due to the contour the right side of the second arch must be longer, because it won’t be seen I fudged on the colors to keep enough white crystal for the top row… ;
Of course I have another Taylor plug to top the key … I will also get the rows on the same plane fore and aft. Now to glue 'em up.

John, they look great. The color variance fits your scheme. Are they just sitting there? It looks a bit narrow if they are already fixed.

Just sitting where it won’t fall again… I was using a glue for the first and last time when it came apart with the tumble … The Observation is missing steps from bumping the stones, we are aware…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-yell.gif)

I’m starting the inner arch, you can see the first course by the white line through the track, that’s an edge.
Sitting on my porch, I can see 4 levels as the main line bends back around… the ‘high line’ at the back is maybe 1" higher!

PS, I have a so far down the road idea that it couldn’t go on the last post … I aim to raise my track on stringers so I can simulate ballasted track. I saved the 100 yards of cribbing for the timbers… doing so will add to the clearance through the bridge. Clearance is always a concern, so the ps got posted.

I second Chris. I think this will be one worth waiting for. The off angle is going to make it real interesting.
A late follow up post to you regarding glue. I’m using some of the same stones for a building project and have found that exterior Liquid Nails NEVER comes apart. The sun here can dry out other glues, but this stuff doesn’t separate ever…sun or snow or cold. Works great for me.
John, looks nice! Sorry to derail and sorry if it’s documented somewhere already. What kinda track/rail/ties is that? I like the looks and the integrated spikes on every tie make it look robust. I’m sure it’s perfect for the temperature extremes in Arizona.

That’s stock Aristo Stainless. I recently painted all my ties and am staining the rail with rust. A side benefit is it has reduced the visual footprint of the rail. My ties had faded to 3 shades and 3’ sections had one of each… I used Black Walnut for the SP section of track and Camo Brown for the second class El Paso and Southwestern track. The Vail and Total Wreck RR uses ‘4th wash ties’ of various tan/brown shades. It’s like taking the forth bath in the same water … but the desert is easy on buried ties. Older ties are tan.
