Bachmann Trains

1400 East Erie Ave.

Philadelphia, PA 19124

I love the Mountains of PA, but Philly ain’t my kinda town…

Most people don’t like Philthy-delphia. That’s why The Lehigh Valley is (was) growing as a bedroom community and a rail service is planned.

Work at Bachman and ride a train to work. Does it get any better?

Maybe they should hire TOC?

Mr. Lynch prolly commited hisself to an asylum, after going from LGB down 20 steps to Backmann.
I know I would have.

Jack Lynch is now the General Manager Special Projects with Bachmann Industries.

This thread could end up better reading than the Sunday funnies. It’s already started.

Lets just not get carried away

I’d offer my meagre services, but hell, it’s practically on the eastern sea-shore…After working in Washington DC us tacs are allergic to the east coast - in fact, most anything east of the Twin Cities is practically back in the UK…

C'mon Bob, that's what we do best! :P

I’m always bummed when I see job requirements that require a Bachelors degree to even have your resume looked at. Not that I’d want to move to Philly, but I have lots of experience in all the areas they are looking for - just no sheepskin. Probably why it took me nearly two years to find a good job last time I was out of work.

I vote for TOC…

That’l happen right Aristo makes you CEO !

Well, imagine the changes! Locomotives released with complete mechanical and electrical reviews… what a concept!

Now, me CEO of Aristo? Boy I would have a field day. I have the assembly procedures to fix a number of Aristo problems.

Regards, Greg

and maybe even implement some quality control/inspection/testing in the assembly process ?

What a thought! Send someone over to China and walk the assembly line when it first starts up, watch how things are going together, check for soldering techniques, assembly techniques, handling, etc.

It would save Lewis a number of trips to China… send an engineer…

Greg

I have a BA degree but it aint in Marketing

Hey Greg,

Here’s a thought a wild thought.---- What if you, TOC, BBT, and maybe TonyRCS get together and start a train co. I can just see it, a Brooks 2-6-0 in 120.3 with a bulet proof drive, battery R/C right from the factory, or track power. No repairs needed, something that would run right out of the box. I bet they would sell faster than they could be manufactured. Something to think about???

Chuck

Chuck.
That is a very noble idea. Problem is, I doubt it could be done at a price level that would attract a lot of customers.

This is just absolutely hilarious.

Read this thread on the Aristo forum, http://www.aristocraft.com/vbulletinforums/showthread.php?t=15574 which is clearly in response to my statements about Lewis going to China, and sending an engineer to inspect the production.

Lewis, et. al: It’s funny trying to refute the obvious, especially when you admit: “but the entire first run is done before we can check out the process ourselves”

That’s the problem, and I’ve worked for several manufacturing companies, it is not impossible.

The real question is how 2 companies can have their products made in the same factory, but with huge differences in delivered quality.

And don’t compare yourself to Microsoft, while there are problems in everything, they have a huge product line with millions of lines of code, they do testing the right way (otherwise Aristo would be bigger than Microsoft).

My suggestion: put a engineer there right when the production is running, not before and not after. The Chinese manufacturing culture will not like it at all, of course, but you will get a better product.

Regards, Greg

p.s., I’m not trying to give Aristo trouble, just would like to see quality improvements in their products. There are a number of simple things that could be changed in the assembly process to vastly increase the quality of the product. Since Lewis won’t answer me here, but answers me on his site (I would prefer to talk there, but I left after being told I could not stay unless I promised to never say anything negative about any Aristo product)… so… I guess this is the communication “technique”… sorry if this bores people to tears… I’ve got tears too, but they are of laughter…
