The San Pedro, Los Angeles & Salt Lake completes line from Los Angeles to Salt Lake City, Utah.

Probably a good thing that it went to Salt Lake, not Tucson …

Having a long cold winter up in Canada, eh?

Tony if it would have gone to Tucson it would have read SPLAT!

It does???

Oh well. I guess one needs to experience cabin fever first hand to understand.

No offense intended mind.
As distinct from offence of course.

Ahhh yes…Cabin fever…Chris is close enough to me to share the same proble…now they say that there is more snow coming on Friday…

We are having a bolus of the white stuff now. My RR is buried under mid thigh deep stuff and it is still coming down. The Alberta Spruce are all buried, and what used to be mounds protecting them now resemble gently rolling hills. I’ll get photos tomorrow.

I have a friend who went to Oz last month. I asked if he needed anyone to carry his bags, but he said that he had all the porters he needed.

Wait until Steve wakes up! It’s already snowed another 8" on top of the 2’ we got this weekend. His mid thigh should be around butt h*le deep by now and no stopping in sight.

Looks like we are slated for 8-10 inches of the white stuff on Friday…or as the Weather Network says; 20 CM of it…all of it seems to be making the usual treck from the US midwest…KEEP THE STUFF, down there…we don’t need it or want it…

Morning Fred,
Yes, we are predicted to get about 8 inches of the stuff that causes people to crave to make French Toast. That has to be the reason people spend so much energy stocking up on eggs milk and bread.

Had a 50 degree drop in temps on Tuesday. 74 to 24 in one day, but the record was 80 to 5 degrees in 1911, so we didn’t evne make the record books. I sure this was a dissapointment to the Global Warming Mantra. Its Winter, it is what we expect.

Busy working on indooor projects, 10 weeks until Spring around here and all heck breaks loose again.

“All heck” got buried here…:frowning:

Well we had our snow for the year. Ha first in about six years. Got to finally run the plow now happy and snow gone and hope no more. Later RJD

quote of Ric " I sure this was a dissapointment to the Global Warming Mantra"…

Global warming is an overall increase in temp. It doesn’t mean that low temps and temp swings aren’t going to happen. Did you know you can freeze to death in the desert even after it reached 130 during the daytime? Tempature extremes happen every where, doent’s mean that deserts arent hot, and just because it’s 15d f todays doesn’t mean the OVERALL temp isn’t rising!

I like those that aslo bable that where’s global warming with all this snow on the ground. If you think about it, the warmer it gets, the more it should rain and snow (Moisture formerly locked in ice is now part of evaporation/percipitation.

Basic physics - every action = equal reaction

higher temps in summer = lower temps in winter
no percipitation in fall = monsoon in spring

Back in the '70s, when we experienced our last run of deep winters, there were cases of real cabin fever up the Ottawa Valley. IIRC, one involved an axe ...

…should we try the axe again this year with the “Back to the past” type of witer we are having ?

Chris…tuck yourself in with a good bottle of the good stuff,it might be a “Deep” Friday…!!!

Wish I could tuck in ... Gotta go to work :( ... Expect to have to shovel my way in on returning home ... And now they're threatening ice pellets as well as snow ... Only six months to spring :P
