Large Scale Central

If you had the cash would you buy this?

Took me 5 minutes to close my month after watching this.

Both indoor and outdoor railroads with videos.

Tom Millers place. And yes, I would buy it if I won the Lotto!

Come on! Who wouldn’t??

Naw I don’t care for the house or the indoor Fn3 layout. Both are beautiful and well done but just not my cup of tea. If I could afford it I would build my own to my liking.

Terry

was that a BigBoy or Challenger stored in the video?

That is a Big Boy. We were there in June for the West Coast Regional meet and spent a couple hours watching and riding the trains. Check out the link for photo’s

Yep, then I’d re-spike all that silly ride-on track to 18" or 24" and buy a bunch of 1:1 feldbahn equipment and use it as a working estate railroad.

I wouldn’t buy it. I would take the money and buy a few hundred acres. I would build a small log cabin and make it self sufficient, and then build a logging railroad using what Vic mentioned. The RR would be used to get my wood for the stove and tour the property. Then I would build a small garden railroad inside a nice green house. You can keep the small ride on. I want the next size up.

So what does this guy actually do or did for a living? Im doing something wrong lol

With tongue very firmly in cheek:

Nah I wouldn’t, I would buy a Largescale manufacturer or two instead. Just to be ornery!

  :stuck_out_tongue:

Its pretty nice…perhaps a summer cottage or something like that. I cant be bothered with such Spartan arrangements…

I’d buy it in a heartbeat and then invite all you guys over to play!

In a moment! Good thing I don’t have the money

Actually, what I’d like is a small place with a little bit of land, partly wooded, partly sunny. What I have? An apartment is an old, and rather funny house.

$3.5 million…not a chance
I think I could do better with $3.5 million, and have more fun doing it

So I looked at this again. Do all the locomotives and rolling stock come with the sale price?

Just curious, I saw a while ago a K-27 Live steam ride on for the low, low price of $200,000. Could possible be a deal.

On another note, I showed my wife the ad. She just laughed. I keep threatening her that I’m gonna put a railway on our 40 acres!!

From what I heard, (not official) that everything goes with the sale. Indoor and out.

Except the house furniture. I don’t know if the shop equipment stays, but I assume so.

What did he get tired of it all. He just built that indoor RR and now wants to sell. I don’t get it. So many people with money do this sort of thing. Ill never get it.

For sure, followed by:

I seem to remember he got a bunch of people together and then financed the building of the building and the model railroad. More power to him, but if you bought it wouldn’t you just be the current caretaker?

I was thinking the same. A lot to maintain unless you can hire someone to maintain it. And Im trying to downsize my 9 acres lol…
