I have a question for everyone.
as I get closer to having to do the roofing. Should I do the cedar shakes or do you think getting the sheet stuff from Ozark would work? The sheet would be faster and it will not rot, but will it look alright? Has anyone used anything like that? Please feel free to give your thoughts on this.
thanks
Geoff
had a set back tonight with my pin nailer. So after taking it back and getting a new one I was back at it and got some more of the roofing planks on and siding on the convayer.

I got really lucky on my pin nailer. I found a Craftsman at a yard sale and it works perfectly.
I had one thought on the roof. I would shingle it. You’ve put so much work into this I think you should continue. I like the look of shingles because they aren’t “perfect”
Doug the pin nailer was a carftsman. I had to take it back to Sears, show the guy the warrienty on the box that said “We will replace it for free” instead of sending it off to be fixed. I know he was just doing his job, but it was less then a month old. Also I worked for Sears for about three years so I know what you can get away with.
Doug if i do the shingles they will be less then perfect for sure.
The siding is all done. tomorrow weather permitting I will get it stained and then I can start on the decking. I’m stating to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Nice build. The stain looks awesome. I think I’m going to have to build one of these now.
Rodney
Craftsman just isn’t made like it used to be!
I’m glad you’ll shingle it. I think you’ll like the look a lot better.
Rodney Thanks.
I spent about two hours at lowes in front of the color chart picking the color.
The guy kept asking can I help you? When I finily made up my mind I think he thought I was crazy
when I only asked for a quart.
I see your from Leavenworth. My Mom is from Manhatten, My aunt lives in KC and I have a brother in Witchita and a few other cousins living in KS.

Ok here is my i need a break update on the ice house. Decking is all done. put side boards on the office and refer unit side. I thought it looked better. The edeging is on the ice trouf area. I also moved the stairs from the refer side tot he office side. I thought this looked better as well. That is what I like about this. I can mod it the way I wish.

And the last photo dump for Saturday. Got the staining done. Added and host to the upper door on the non track side of the building. I thought it looked dumb to have a door on the second floor and no way to get stuff up there.
