I wish this mini-ice age would end

I went out yesterday to try to transplant some dwarf Alberta Spruce that had grown too big for their current home. I think I planted them too close together. :frowning:

It was a nice day, sun shining, temp 45F, ground seemed ripe for digging.

I stuck the shovel into the ground, and hit a hard spot at 2 inches.

??? I’ve never run into rocks, before!!!

I cleaned out the hole, and found solid ice!

I woke up this morning to 3 inches of fresh snow.

Sigh.

Wake me when June comes.

SNOW?
We are in an early heat wave breaking 100 year old high temp Records
If you want some heat Ill email you some.

Ship me some of that snow down here, I am already thinking the Carolinas will have water restrictions this summer.

Hey Steve, this make ya feel any better…

Partly sunny, 75, and a train was runnin…

Thanks, Ken, I knew I could count on you.

Now we have gusts to 40 kts. I wish it was more so I could get a new roof!

Boy I’ll take some of that cooler weather too. Way too early to be sweating while working outside,

It’s been just balmy here in Buffalo- the Miami of the North!!! I’m lovin’ life!!!

It’s been surprisingly warm here in Maine and I’ve been taking advantage of the weather by running trains and cleaning up. It’s bout 60-70 degrees and no snow. But that can change, still time for another snow shower here.

Been warm here in Nebraska also, but WINDY! 60 mph the other day. Seems to always blow 20-40 when it’s nice. Can blow the cars off the track.

87 here today. But I spent 10 hours at work and am too tired to work on the GRR :frowning:

Northern Ohio reporting in: temps in the high 70’s to low 80’s - moderate rainfall and high humidity - about what you’d expect in mid June.

Not much better in Idaho Steve. I woke to about 2 inches of that white stuff. Just got back from inventoring an estate sale and now the rain has come with the 40 mph wind blowing everything side ways.

Been bloody cold out here, temps below normal, of course this is after a winter of 80 degree temps coupled with short periods of really cold rain. Rain heat rain heat rain now its the first day of spring and we seams to have regressed back to December…wierd weather to say the least.

Tied the temperature record here today, so it has been this warm on this date before.

I think we hit 50F barely here today with rain. It actually snowed here last Monday, the only snow all winter. It melted away by evening except for a few small spots under some trees. The temps were down to about 38F and the winds were gusting to about 60mph (80 or so at the headlands). Left a lot of debris & branches and we lost power for a couple hours but the local boys from the power coop got us back up in short order. Biggest storm of the winter and it was almost Spring.

Of course a little water doesn’t stop anybody up here but it does slow us down a bit. hehe! At least it’s not hot!

We hit a whopping 42 or so today, ground still frozen too. We are at least 4 to 6 weeks behind. At this time last year i was thinking about planting onion sets and getting the early peas ready to plant. Not this year.

Exactly the same in Minnesota.

Something tells me everyone east of the Rockies are really gonna get roasted this summer. Just have a feeling ya know.

That’s really odd. All our snow is all gone, and I have been wearing shorts and T-shirts for the last couple of days. We haven’t been just breaking high temperature records lately, we have been destroying them. Our overnight lows are higher than our historical average highs. Unusually warm days at the end of April are not unusual, but the third week in March is unheard of. The boss had me install all the screens a couple of days ago.

Hi Guys:

Yes, Ottawa is having the same warm weather as northern Ohio, high 70’s and low 80’s.

Friday, it is back to reality. Oh, well.

The recent high temps put an end to the maple sap run. This is going to push up the price of maple syrup.

With the beautiful warm weather, guess what else climbed? Yep, gas prices shot up. This summer 1.50 Cnd per litre is expected.

I am holding on to my gas car as long as possible until the affordable electric cars hit the market.

Too bad that the fun muscle cars are now or will become but a memory. Where is the varuuum of the electric car?
