I was very wrong...

…to trust that silly ground hog!!!

The clear film on the side of 1741 is plastic wrap to keep the falling snow from getting through the vents. The snow was falling exceptionally fast today, picking up close to a foot by early afternoon. The locomotives were pretty well matched by the snow-rate, but they kept the line open as long as they could.

I can say this because we don’t get snow here: the snow is beautiful!! The trains in the snow is just too cool. Thanks for sharing.

Looks good! We got a good bit of snow here in Maine too… Didn’t look like stuff my steamers could deal with, I was sorry cause I like running night g plow trains too

Great looking photos! I’m glad to be a spectator for winter, this year. I think we met our quota for the decade last winter in Buffalo. It also helps to send death threats to that little rodent (Punxsutawney Phil).

cool

Phil isn’t little, he is a fat…sucker. I can only just imagine how much groundhog gumbo I could make with him.

That cool

The snow is too icy and heavy for trains to handle on my RR.

Nice photos Jeff, I like your colour scheme. Good to see someone is having fun in the snow.

Nice pictures! It was really pretty here too, but I had to work. By noon the sun came out and melted a lot of it away. I didn’t need to shovel the driveway which is a good thing.

We missed out on that one. I got a dusting but areas just t my east got a bit. Im in the same snow drought Kevin is in.

In my world a snow drought is a GOOD THING!(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

My layout is buried under a 4’ drift on the west side. Be a LONG time before I run trains.

Thanks for the comments guys!

Jerry,

By last February we had accumulated at least 3ft on the ground, and it kept replenishing itself! So while last winter was a total loss for running, I’m making up for lost time this year. One positive note about last winter was that it gave me a chance to thin out the woods a bit, you should have seen all the three-foot tall tree stumps I had in the woods by spring.

Looks great! My plan to run the railroad at least once a month hit an 18" wall in December, and I haven’t seen more than a few feet of track since. March will be here soon enough, I guess…

Later,

K

I got snow also , but along with it were some really big branches mixed in with lots of little ones … Oh well… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-undecided.gif)

Looks great Jeff!

Nic pics!!! We had two days in the 50’s over the weekend. Then snow monday and today. ugh. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-yell.gif)

I’ve got daylilies poking through next to the house. Still have a foot of worn out snow over most of the property, though. I am so ready for spring.

89 degrees in San Diego today… oh the pain…

I feel your pain, Greg. There is a cure.

Yeah, I could go vote in the New Hampshire primary. Now I was fibbing a bit, 10 degrees cooler here on the coast, so high today will be 81, perfect. 89 too hot… that’s where Mike Reilly is.

Actually you guys have pretty nice year round weather except a bit too much rain for me.
