Red Dwarf- Cryton: Engange panic curcuits…
(That’s how it’s spelled)
Red Dwarf sounds good, I’ll have to check it out sometime.
My all-time favorite show is Mystery Science Theater 3000.
Crow: “Trains are blameless, holy things!”
Tom Servo: “And remember to worship at the railroad of your choice.”
Crow: “Father, I’m having a crisis of faith… ‘Wear safety goggles, my son.’”
(From the UP-produced safety films, “Last Clear Chance” and “Days of Our Years”.)

I have Red Dwarf on DVD (previously on VHS). I can watch the series over and over again. Its insanely funny, ‘what the *(#$ just happened?’ humor. I love it! I just wish they’d finally get the movie done.

I love MST3K, the invention exchange was the best part, my favorites were the Breakfast Bazooka and the Inbetween Meal Mortor. “Look out, incoming Tweenkie!”
I’ll have to look for that UP one, is it included in one of the “shorts” dvds?

Who produced the DVD? In case our boonie selection isn’t up to snuff.

John-
We really don’t want to go there.
Seriously.
We have 6-8 hour ops sessions, do you really want to know what breaks down?
Really?
I would be willing to bet a small sum that the prime issues on those Bachmann units is a loose wire.
Still waiting to hear what the issue is with the BBT unit.

Dave,
We used to have 2 to 3 hour op sessions on the HOm RhB, it wasn’t the equipment that broke down.
Like this story:
Two “old timers” are standing by the stairs, shooting the breeze. My ex comes up the stairs to report that coffee and tea is ready, but first she asks the two “How come you’re not running trains?”
“Oh, we needed a rest, running trains to a schedule is almost as hard as work.” and then added “Not as much fun as just running, we enjoy that much more.”
My ex (she’s as diplomatic as I am ): “In that case, why do you bother showing up?”
For the one I made a simple “Really Basic Throttle”; it was a simple push button mounted on a piece of hardboard. One could push the button as much as one would like, nothing would happen. Which was the same as on our simplified EMM throttles when he was using them. “Nothing’s happening!?!”
The EMM handhelds have three toggle switches. A left/right for direction, an up/down (spring loaded) for accelerate/brake and an on/off for the emergency (down for dump the air). The design was “consumer” tested, but that’s another story.
<We really don’t want to go there.
Seriously.>
Dave,
Go where?
jb
Which locomotives have the highest failure rate in our ops sessions.
Still waiting for more info on that BBT drive issue…
you guys lost me on the first page…well except the fact I offered to give all of those broken engines a loving home!
as to the Red Dwarf-clueless
c’
Cale,
Haven’t seen an episode yet, but clicking the different Red Dwarf WAV files gives enough incentive to have a look see.
Uh. lemme guess…Buddy L?
As soon as I find out about the BBT issue, I’ll let you know.

Of course we get it, Neil, and are immediately reminded why we declared our independence from the old country.
