Here’s what YouTube finds for rod stewart model train

We seen all of them, but it not the vedio one he had a few years ago running Steam Trains. It was a video running thru the maze of track in his city yard. Lots and lots of detail of the city in background. Must of got pulled off. (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cry.gif)

Interesting. Just saw yet another article about this and it mentions other rock stars that are into trains [link]:

”But Stewart isn’t the only rock star who dabbles in model trains. The Who’s Roger Daltrey [link], Phil Collins, Neil Young [link], The Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood, and pianist Jools Holland [link] also share in the hobby.”

Here’s one of the pictures from that article that I hadn’t seen anywhere else:

And here’s one of Jools Holland:

There’s also a wikipedia article [link] listing a bunch of other celebrities, including Tom Hanks, Elton John, Joe DiMaggio, Frank Sinatra, Bruce Springstein, and, amazingly enough, Hermann Göring (of Nazi fame).

[edited to add a wikipedia article, the Rod Stewart picture, links to articles/videos for other rocker’s railroads, and a pic for Jools Holland’s railroad]

Just saw this super short video about Rod and his trains:

No real info but you get to see glimpses of his layout with running trains.

There’s an article coming up in Railway Modeller January 2025.

There was an article in the Dec 2019 edition of Railway Modeller. I have a copy. I wonder why they are doing it again?

might be the same thing as what they do with movies.
every few years there must be a remake under the same title, but complying to the actual “social standards”.

maybe this remake will include MA-track instead of AM-track, or similar…

The Downward Spiral into Railway Addiction

Pete, we can only hope this new article provides some hope and inspiration to the next generation. When a rock icon like Rod Stewart lays bare the consequences of his addiction, it might just save others from going off the rails.

:grinning:

Never heard of the guy myself

There is another musical celebrity, unknown here in the US, called Jools Holland, who also has a big UK-style layout. [He was featured in the “Concert for George” set up by Eric Clapton after George’s death.]

Peter, please let us know if there was any groundbreaking news.

Here’s a nice pic of Sir Rod.

A long time ago! Or at least 20 Characters ago.

But Wait, There’s More!

I’m not interested in the latest news of Sir Rod.

Korm, you’re suggesting a “Mature Audience” track?

You know you’re getting old when the radio stations and bars play music you don’t like, but the supermarket is throwing out banger after banger.

nope.
i was just trying to imagine what kind of deep thoughts could justify a (redacted?) new issue of that video…

(sorry, if i fell again into some language pit, as i did with the he/she/it male stuff)

You forgot them and they :exploding_head:

Korm,
Honestly I don’t think it has a darn thing to do with language. I speak fluent Pennsyltuckyian and they still don’t understand me either.
