When at 0035 hours, on the fourth call, you tell them the perps are in your yard, approaching your antique vehicle, and it’s been 37 minutes sice the first call, you kept reporting noises as the rifle thorugh neighbor’s stuff…and that if the Cops aren’t there in 15 seconds, please cancel the call for an officer and make that a call for the Coroner and hang up.
14 seconds later TWO showed up.
And I unloaded the .45ACP.
Freaking kids had no idea.
And did they nab the little mooks?
Oh, yeah.
Ran a warrant search, came up clean, and the cops left.
Kids left five minutes later.
The poo is hitting the fan.
Calls are in.
In the county, we have one Sheriff, under that are 4 Chiefs.
I’ve known one for over 20 years.
Helped him rebuild the drivetrain and radio in his personal 1950 Ford.
Now head of CID.
This officer had better have a damn good explanation of “why” trespassing vandals are let go or it immediately goes to the head of the line.

Next time report an accidental firearm discharge - you guys are allowed to discharge firearms within city limits, aren’t you? - and your concern that someone next door (in this case the prospective vandals) could have been hit.
If there are questions, tell them you were aligning the night vision equipment.

See Dave? As usual you went needlessly to extremes. All you needed to say was The donuts are hot out of the fryer!! You would’ve had City Police, Highway Patrol, Sheriff’s Office, FBI, assorted Reserves and even the security guards from the surrounding malls. What the heck, I might even have shown up!

We all have had some experiences somewhat like this , and A person I worked with for over 20 years , made a big mistake .
He had a ongoing problem for several years with some young jerks , the young men , really did not know this WW2 vet , had a line that should not be crossed , well , they crossed him really big time , he chased them down and killed them both . Then went to jail for a long time , where he passed away .
It is sad that people have to put up with jerks , and know that the jerks , will not be delt with , as they should be . Not PC , now a days .
You don’t chase them down.
They come after you and threaten you enough you are in fear for you life, the local Prosecutor will not charge you.
The "get them to come after you " ploy is much more satisfying , as long as you control it properly .
I had an instance where this young (aren’t they always) self aggrandising plank kept on parking in disabled bays , to my inconvenience .
So , this one morning , I waited until he parked , then parked touching his bumper. This effectively trapped his pride and joy (oh , how I wish ,I know what you’re thinking )
He then said "better shift that before I get back " . Well , I didn’t , and he then proceeded (as they say in court ) to regale me with stories about what he was going to do . But of course , he didn’t , it was bluster . Finally , he snapped and spat at me . Now , this was a silly thing to do , because some passers by had witnessed this , and being trapped , he lost it completely . It cost him £1260 in court , plus costs , plus damages . Multiply the 1260 by 1.7 for US dollars .
Moral ?
Don’t abuse disabled parking bays . Or you get a criminal record .
And , above all , don’t think for one minute that us old buggers are a pushover . I may be disabled , but a coward I am not .
Oh , and if you think I was overdoing it , I had told him what I would do if he persisted abusing common decency .

A few yrs. ago we had two British bobby’s at our home a garden show. They were visiting and working with the Dallas police dept. They said the first ten minutes after walking out of the police station, they heard more gunshots then there whole career in England !
As the police tell us if you shoot them outside, drag um in the house then call.
Found out this afternoon they were not juveniles…
