Large Scale Central

Hi, my name is Aaron, and I am a train addict

Hi my name is Aaron, and I am a G scale addict! I have not bought a train in almost 5 months, but have been struggling with that addiction lately. I just faltered by agreeing to purchase a USA trains dockside switcher to kitbash, and am drooling over a pair of LGB white pass diesels that are just begging for a home and a date with the saw!!! I could use some serious help from the G scale community.

If anyone knows of a good 3 step program that may be of help (or of some good G scale deals out there) please post here

Step 1: Buy

Step 2: Bash

Step 3: Run

hmmm, that 3 step I might be able to stick with (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Welcome to the RAF…“The Railroad Addiction Foundation” …we can help you…

Drop into the Chat room, every day around 19:30, and at least one person will be there…just admit to your addiction, and you will find help.

“Hi Arron!”

Bar is open, grab whatever you want, someone always picks up the tab.

Will definitely have to do chat sometime, and seek help from other “addicts” lol

Mark, that would be a dream for sure

That’s a serious addiction. Not for the faint of heart, light weights need not apply.(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-smile.gif)

Welcome Aaron!

You have successfully taken the first step and admitted you have a problem! I offer no advice as I struggle with the same issues myself. I can tell you that I have decided to take the 2nd step and do nothing about it other than continue to deal with the problem. I can offer some advice to help you get through it which would be drink alcohol heavily like I do. When you drink heavily you tend to get severely intoxicated when this happens you can no longer properly function and eventually you will want to go to sleep. When you go to sleep you cannot buy trains in turn helping with your addiction.

Aaron, you’ve come to the right place. This outfit is chock full of similar characters with the same disability, so you’ll blend right in. If you ever get back from Honduras, there’s a couple ne-er do wells that live not far from you. I’m almost sure they can lead you further astray…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

High, Aaron, welcome.

Complete abstinence is the only way to beat this addiction. Complete abstinence is the only… Complete abstinence…

Oh, hell, follow me, I know where there are some great deals. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Aaron, Step one : You buy it

Step two: You make it a great bash…

Step three: You give it to me, then run away…

Hello Aaron and welcome. I too have that addiction. I recently bought another LGB Porter and an LGB 2 axle diesel, the diesel needs bashed. I just bought an HO Clyde ML2. I am waiting for my preordered LGB Olomana. And I have a workbench full of bashes and rebuilds that I should be working with instead of playing on the computer.

So, unfortunately, I cannot help you overcome your addiction. But I can share in it with you.

  1. As long as the bills get paid, forget about it.
  2. It is easier to get forgiveness than get permission. See rule 1.
  3. It is better to get permission than her find the reciept.
  4. If she doesn’t ask how much before you buy see rule 1.
  5. If she ask how much when she sees you want have done, see rule 2.
  6. If all other rules fail have the trains “deliver” her present.

I subscribe to rule 1. As long as I am paying the bills, who cares how many toys I have?..besides me?

Aaron, why don’t you join a local club?

Might be a bit difficult as he is in Honduras currently…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Satisfy the addiction Aaron. Don’t give it up. Look at it as a blessing. Finish the cars and locos you have started, I’m waiting for the end product of that monster you were building. Stay away from the booze they’re just trying to make you forget the addiction. Remember it’s a blessing nothing else.
