Large Scale Central

Green Pass Service Station

Hello, this is my last project for my layout in 1:32, is a Service Station. Some pics from the building process…

Greetings, Xavier

Xavier;
That is some fine work.
I wish I had a little of your talent.
My buildings look like junk compared to yours.
Thanks for sharing such a fine tallent

David

You never feel that way about your work.
All you need is time, patience, wrong several times in the same, but never underestimate your work.
I’ve been doing modeling for over 30 years, and yet many times, I think my job is awful.
If you want some advice on my part, on your next model, first do a good approach, you gather information on the subject (colors, dimensions …) and undertake the work with patience and calm. Before doing anything, think 2 times, then do it.
Well, sorry for the “speech”, but I do not like anyone disparages the work of anyone. Or yourself.
If you need some help, do not hesitate to notify me, or other mate in the forum.
Regards,

Xavier

wonderful workmanship…

Thank you Andy.

Xavier

That is beautiful work. So are you building gasoline pumps next?

Thanks Doug,
yes, this is the next step.
I build gasoline pumps entire in scratch.

Xavier

I didn’t thimk anyone made them in that scale.

I have to build a 1:24 scale gas station from the period you’re building. Before I got back into railroading there was a 1920s station near us. They used it for a commercial or movie and tore it down after that. I wish I’d gotten pictures!

Xavier,
Thanks for sharing your projects with us.
I think you are correct about the importance of patience.
Unfortunately, that is not one of my attributes. But I’m working on it

I’m curious, who were you referring to, your “other mate on the forum”.

Xavier,
Very well done, that gas station looks very much like a Chuck Doan project.
Keep up the good work.
Rick

Hi,
thanks Rick. Yes, I’m a fan of Chuck Doan. My gas station looks very much a Red Oak Service Station. I was take some ideas from this model.
But in Chuk project the gas station is the main subject, and is a only one building. (is a diorama)
In my project, they are many buildings and are placed in a layout.
But, my gas station, don’t look so good as Chuck’s model.

Greetings

Xavier
