Here is a link to a video for the meeting Shawn was talking about.

Nico

Now that is cool!

Nico;

Thanks for posting the video. At first I thought the canon was from the Dragon 1:35 Leopold kit, but the details differ from my unstarted kit. Somebody did a great job on that canon. Mine is not really designed to be used on 45mm track, but I intend to correct that if I ever get around to building my kit.

It will become Honest Adolph’s Rapid Tunnel Drilling Service (we drill tunnels in months instead of years!).

Best,
David Meashey

Funny, but all restrooms in a Superliner Coach are downstairs. Also the seats typically all face in one direction. They are reversible (well if the stupid reverser knob actually works), but rarely are they all set up they way yours are (face to face).

Matt, I’m sure that you are right that the seats are rarely set up face to face, however, I rode the Empire Builder from Wenatchee, WA to Edmunds, WA, over Steven’s Pass, in coach since it was going to be just a few hours and the chairs were set up face to face, just like that. That is the only time I have seen them set face to face, though. I had to sit facing the rear of the train. I hate riding backwards. I interrupted a fellow’s “nest” by claiming my seat. He wasn’t too happy about that. Oh, well.

Very interesting they were set up like that. Usually there is only one or two seats per car set up facing each other. These are reserved for families. These seats are typically in the middle of the coach. I personally have never seen a long distance Superliner coach set up with all the seats facing each other. Been traveling Amtrak long distance regularly since 1984 including the Southwest Chief, Coast Starlight, Desert Wind, California Zephyr, Sunset Limited, and Empire Builder. Was it a Superliner coach? The California Cars (Amtrak California and Pacific Surfliner) are set up with some of the seats facing each other. So it is possible one of these was used as a substitute. But probably not on the Empire Builder. The Builder actually has a dedicated pool of Superliners that are only supposed to be used on that train. The Builder gets fully refurbished Superliners, or at least it is supposed to. Here is how a Superliner Coach normally looks:

And here is what the interior color scheme should look like since the Great Trains coach shown is in phase III paint:

The Toliet was just for my buddy rays amusment! I have been trying different seat postions and see which will work better when the cars a lighted. Alrighty here is some lighted up test run with 5.99 double AA led warm lights from Garden ridge. Now this is just a test but will work for what I am trying to do! And I save a ton of money!
