All the Long cars will have the trucks with the black wheels the shiny wheels are for the short cars!

The updated versions look great.

Correct phase III lettering makes a big improvement.

I don’t understand? These cars are longer(36") with body mounted couplers and can do a 9’ diameter?

Roosters Trains

Scott-
Thanks for the photos and your work.

I’m missing some information.
“Great Trains” to me is a brand name. If accurate, I associate the brand with HO and N guage.
Is this a brand producing large scale (1:29 is my guess) passenger rolling stock? If so, who’s selling it?
Rooster’s photos were of the same brand?
Thanks for any data.
Wendell

Hello Wendell, Great trains was named The Great Trains American Standard Company owned by Ralph Brown. RIP he passed away in 1989 I believe. I have seen his trains at auctions anf also on ebay when they do show up. The only superliner cars that he sold were the short cars!

There are a few of us out there with the long cars which never saw the retail world. I got lucky and got five of them. Keep an eye out on ebay a gentleman just recently had a Denver rio grande f40 set and the non superliner cars more stream liners. Was sold mostly through Walters.

Wendell,
Great Trains haven’t been made in years.

Rooster built his F40 and Superliners

I was looking for a more normal look when going around a curve. Not the sharp angle yours is at Rooster! LOL

Nick Smith had some old stock NIB sets at the eclsts. When I left on Friday nite he had Conrail and Chessie(?) sets left. Also had unpowered units as well. I picked up an Amtrak set and additional cars/engines and some Chicago and Northwestern cars for a friend here in Taxachusetts. All the cars he had were the smoothsides no Superliners. If there was a Pennsy set there I would have grabbed it.
