what you do not understand about global warming is that colder places will get colder and warmer places hotter. Similarly those areas that experience low annual rainfall will receive less and those that receive higher than average will receive more rainfall/snowfall. I see an ice age heading your direction, in a few thousand years.

most of us are not going to see the fruits of our industrial endeavours, like sea level rising and dramatic climate change, but hardly a positive legacy to leave. Our children will definately see the catastrophe of sea level changes. Billions of Asians/Indo Asians live close to the sea, deriving their existence from the sea. A one metre rise is anticipated this century. This will impact on most of the island populations and Asians living in river delta regions. These people need to be relocated elsewhere. What global impact do you think this will have on both the economy and the future peace for other nations that have to accomodate these immigrants? They cannot simply move back a few mteres to get out of the water. Their entire world will be flooded.
Jakarta is the capital city of Indonesia and has a population in the many millions. Currently almost one-third of the city is flooded each year during rainy seasons. It is estimated that within the lifetimes of the population, that the city will be two-third's flooded every year, with at least one-third continually submerged. How does one ignore many millions of people being displaced each year in just one city. Now spread this across the globe.Tim
I live 4 feet and 1 barrier beach above sea level. And the human race may see another ice age in a few thousand years. Jakarta is just 1 example of no urban planning in city development. the dutch live below sea level.
What is interesting is that John leaves his cars out in winter. That must really weather them. What about rust?
