Glitches

Bob,

Just ran Build 59, it still delivers incorrect cars to the cement works.
Question: would that have anything to do with the “U” designation i.e. “Uah” and “Uh” for the tankers gets confused with “Uce” for the cement hoppers?

The updated DB is on the way to you for your “enjoyment”.

What incorrect cars? What train are you building?

No, the U designation wont matter, they’re different places.

EDIT: Are you talking about Distentis Wayfreight 4711 delivering tank cars to the yard siding at Untervaz?

Yes, in the build log they’re marked for delivery to the Cement Works.

They’re going to the Untervaz siding, not the cement works. You have that siding marked as a yard.

Bob, What exactly would the “empties” be doing there?

That is the same as in this one

just a different train. The siding was designated as a “yard”, because that is the only way - as far as I can see - to deliver the empty “Uce” to that location.

“Yards” get empties, regardless of type. If you want a certain car to go to a certain place when empty, you need to set the “When empty return to” industry when editing a car.

Too many glitches in my DB. Time to uninstall and start from scratch.

It’s a real pain to do that, but probably not a bad idea. You might re-think some of the set-ups while your at it.

When I re-started from scratch a bunch of builds ago, I was going to keep updating a database that only had the physical layout in it by exchanging it with the live db every time a new build came out. That got to be a real bear to manage so I stopped many builds ago.

One thing I found helpful when starting over was to dump a bunch of screen shots of the existing setup into a document that I could refer to when re-populating the database.

Thanks Jon! I printed out most of the nitty gritty.
