Glitches

OK, this is what the second train looks like after Build 43

Red and Blue are odd because those cars should never show up at that location - boxcars and sliding wall cars only. And they are moved from one grocery warehouse to the other - USEGO to CO-OP -rather than loaded a USEGO. Orange the same: wrong location when starting but at least they go to the correct loading location. Purple: This one is completely screwy since the cars are moved on the spot. Result: moved 6 cars and not one of them in the train when leaving! :frowning: But there is one improvement, the “Fb” is not on its shuttle between Landquart and Reichenau.

And now the switchlist for that train

Hmmmmmmmmm so now we have 6 cars in the train, contrary to what the “Build Train” list stated. Either I don’t understand the term “empty” correctly or there is still a glitch. ??? Question 1: What is the time allotment to load a car? If I remember correctly it is one day to unload. Question 2: Why would the purple "Haik-v"s have to move at all? they were at the right industry. ??? Question 3: What’s with the “0” length and “0” weights for the train??? Time to call it a night!

Forgot, terminating the train was still to be done here’s the picture

All the Dest. Industries entries will need to be changed.

And now some “interesting stuff” with Build 45

Does anyone have any idea what is going on with the tank car shuffle at Samedan? How can there be 8 pick-ups when there are only 4 tank cars getting moved? And why would empty tankers be moved to St.M? There are only two points where empties would be loaded and St.M isn’t one of them.

Here’s the switchlist that goes with 5105, the circled section shows duplicate cars!

Hmmmm … not so good! :frowning: And the printout for the terminating train still shows those empty tankers in duplicate.

You haven’t been playing the db shuffle have you? That looks similar to what mine was doing with an old database that didn’t get all the upgrades.

Nope, didn’t do the save the DB bit and re-run. It was doing the "interesting stuff " all along, didn’t need my help!

Looks similar to what Bart was seeing… Im in the middle of fixing it… I hope

I think I caught the bug too. Train Detail looks OK…

But the switch list is buggered…

The interchange pickups are not shown and cars that aren’t there get shuffled at the industries. I tried with Realistic Mode both checked and unchecked. No difference. NOTE: My Host is being funky again. If the pictures don’t load, please try again in a few minutes. They continue to claim that there are no problems. It’s a Windows server. That probably explains it. I’m going to move to their Linux servers when I have a few hours to move all the data.

Testing Build 48. So far so good. Train Detail & Switchlist agree and look right.

It’s back in Build 51

:frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

I advanced the date and it seemed to get better.

Perhaps after getting a new build / db update a Date Advance is required in order for everything to get to the correct state?

Still some issue as to where the car actually is. The Car Location Report shows cars at an industry, but Train Detail and Switchlist are both saying that I’m just picking up from a siding (non-industry pick-up). This isn’t as bad as the shuffle. Perhaps after a train or two run it will clean itself up.

Still playing.

Yep, it’s still shuffling empties instead of shipping out loads. :frowning:

Jon, what exactly is the issue here? I’m not real clear on what the problem is. Is it that EBT 957 is going from the siding to the industry? Where does the location report show EBT 957 as being before/after the train is built?

OK, Now that I got my provider to boot the server so I could see what I posted…

The first move…

At Walk Junction: It picks up the box from the siding, and delivers it to the industry on that siding. A non-move. Same at Nook - All four cars are picked up from the siding and moved to the industry on that siding.

Unfortunately I don’t have a before and after location on those cars as I never ran this train. I do know that before I installed 51 that all of those cars were at the industries. In other words, in the car location window, each car could be found on each of the branches for the town - Town level, Siding level and Industry level.

What I did next was to advance the date. When I ran the same train with the date advanced it DID NOT do the shuffle, but it did make moves From a Siding (rather than From the industry).

I think I still have a copy of the DB in a similar state to home here at the office. If I get time today I’ll try and get details and post.

I don’t see why you think this is a problem. If the car is on a siding, but not at the industry, it SHOULD move it to the industry if its needed.

Bob,

The problem seems to be the two-step progress

  1. Move car to siding

  2. Move car to industry

Or would we have to designate the local switcher to do those moves?

The other glitch that still shows up is empties moving from one industry to the other within the town, but simply not getting loaded. to be added to the train. BTW these are industries which have no “In”, strictly “out” i.e. USEGO and CO-OP.

The problem is, that on my railroad, the siding is the industry. I don’t have multiple industries on 1 siding so for this train there is really nothing to do.

Also, I’m pretty sure that before 51, those cars car was already located at the industry (as well as on the siding an in the town) in the Car Location report.

Jon: Is the siding marked as a yard, or an interchange?

Bob - No, not at Build 50 anyway. I can’t check 51 from here. Work is still at 50. I’ll leave it there while I look at some stuff to answer your questions.
