I read that DDT almost single-handedly wiped out Malaria in the world. Since it’s ban people have been dying from Malaria at an ever increasing rate.
I swam in, ate, drank and smoked Agent Orange for nine months. I hope to make it to 70 y.o.

Talk about nasty stuff, I spent the last three years before military retirement at Tooele Army Depot in Utah. Now there was some toxic stuff. Oh ya ! I was around nerve gas and the like. They had stuff there that could wipe out most of the life around the world real fast…
TOF in Hawaii
i am sure, that DDT will get its comeback.
after DDT was banned we had to use many more applications of insectizides in our agriculture, malaria is a growing threat again and ants become unstoppable.
Doug; I very seldom “Shovel” snow…if I have to, I use a snow blower…this year I think I’ve used it three times.
I work on the principal, that the snow will melt when the storm gods are ready. I reserve my energy for working on the railroad, and having fun. Same goes for lawn mowing…I don’t feed it, spray it, or waterit (The lawn), so it grows slowly, and stays green by it’s self. I only have to mow it about once a month. Around the railroad in the walkways; I use a whipper-snapper…again, only when it needs it.
I do use Round-up, in small quantities, and a gas flame wand for controling weeds.
Banning DDT was based on some left wing nitwits book called Silent Spring…not a shred of scientific evidence to support it.
Banning DDT has killed more people from malaria, especially in Africa, than it’s use ever did. But that all happens in Africa, so who cares?

YUP!
Just one more in a long list of government created crises.
This is OT but may support Ken’s assertion; Freon just happened to be banned by the US government less than one year before Dow Chemical’s (?) patent on Freon was about to expire. The new replacement for Freon was afforded the same courtesy when it had about 2 (?) years left on it’s exclusive manufacture.

Everything in moderation....stay active...get out of your automobile and walk....mow your own lawn....enjoy holy waters in moderation....avoid religious stupidity....Live life to it's fullest, while you can; and in some cases...LEARN TO SPELL and write good english.
“To taste the full flavor of life, take big bites. Moderation is for monks.” Lazarus Long, ca. 2342
Are you admitting to being a monk, Fr. Fred?

Ken,
Are you trying to say the Global consensus that DDT was bad and required banning, was a leftwing conspiracy by every country in the World?
“Who is the worst killer in the long, ugly history of war and extermination? Hitler? Stalin? Pol Pot? Not even close. A single book called Silent Spring killed far more people than all those fiends put together.”

This next one spells out the many lies and distortions that are found in “Silent Spring.”

The chemical that saved the most lives in history is DDT.

I could go on, but you get the idea.

And, when my friends and enemies look at my well preserved body in the casket, they will all say, “Yeah, he partied.”
