They have something to hide.
I say properly label the food and we the consumers can make up our own minds whether we want to eat it or not.

Tony, I really doubt that will ever happen! I’m pretty much a Radical Libertarian.
You’re right though, almost carbon copy legislation keeps the food labels here very curious.

The article from the left wing Wikipedia is interesting but too bad it is junk science. To this day, there have been no scientific proof of DDT harming the environment but there is a ton of scientific evidence of genocide from the lack of use of it. But we live in the day when groups like the left wing Center for Science in the Public Interest and people like Al Gore spew out junk scientist on a daily basis. Remember the Meryl Streep’s Aliar scare? Remember the Sacrine scare? They were hoaxes! In laboratory tests, high doses of chemicals are used on a relatively small number of animals because the other option - using tens of thousands of animals in each cancer study - is impractical and too expensive. The average person would not ingest in a lifetime the amount of chemicals used in these test. The same kind of junk science is going on in the GM food controversy.

Perhaps Ron could offer some scientific proof that DDT does NOT cause what the Wikipedia article claims.
Perhaps Ron can name one Country in the World where DDT is not banned.
Is he trying to say all of those Countries that have banned DDT are beholden to left wing conspiracies?

If you did mean modifying, then yes you are correct. Sort of.
However, there is a big difference between improving a crop by selective breeding over time and achieving that improvement instantly by adding alien genes.
Can you guarantee it was safe to add Salmon Genes to tomatoes for example?
Personally, I have no idea if Genetically Modified foods are safe or not. But, given the reluctance of the Big Agribusinesses to allow labeling of what they have Genetically Modified so the consumer can choose to eat them or not, I have my doubts that it is safe.
Yum…salmon-flavoured tomatoes [or vice versa].
MUCH better dinner idea than my invention of spray-on gravy or even sprout paste.
