Better than great, even!
I was just contrasting the June picture…

With the October one…

Nice work.
Coulda picked a better lookin loco, but what ya got done looks good…
Forgive Ken. He doesn’t understand any locomotive that cannot be classified according to Whyte…
…winking…
Lookin real good Dave. Now I see what your meant when you said space on the under-body was scarce. Hows the sound system tests coming?
Lookin’ good, man! Great Hollywood, but ya know, with all the work ya done, ya shoulda made 2 so you would have one to keep!
Is it done yet?
Thank you all for the comments.
Jon, the sound test went well. the small second speaker gives the cheesy single chime horn a defined cheesy sound, just the way I think it should be. I’m really pleased with it. packing the fuel tank behind the main speaker helps direct the sound , so the two perform as expected.
Lou the second one is just a copy of the first so I haven’t taken pics of it yet.
Man that thing is ugly! great work it’s looking just like it’s supposed to. I’m amazed at how you get the curves to look so good in the wood. Beautiful work.
Terry
Looking good Hollywood!
Picking up where I left off with the battery boxes.
Box sides and bracing were added
Undecided on how I’ll route power in the loco, I cut the necessary holes for the USAT switches on the GP7/9 power board
And set the battery boxes in place
Note the drain tubes that come from the interior of the loco and drain between the battery boxes and fuel tank on each side
Holes for the fuel fill and fill gauge were drilled and carved in the plastic skirt extensions of the battery boxes and trimmed as needed
Trucks were next
Sand lines and the cable for the speedometer were added. Note that while I used wire for the speedometer cable I used heat shrink tube for the sand lines. These were preshrunk and roughly formed while still warm, prior to placement.
And so I can start working on power and sound the frame and trucks received a few coats of paint.
And with trucks assembled and attached to frame
Hope this gives you all food for thought. Till next time as I get the time to work on this.
And again, thank you all for your comments and suggestions
Hollywood, Nice…
Page 9?

Son, premature as usual…
Page 9?
Maybe me?
Actually I wanted to say that Hollywood has motivated me to make a part for my GP-9 that is missing instead of spending $10 + S&H for a little plastic part.
Lookin’ good, as always.
Is it done, yet?
