Sweet! It sure looks good. Does that have new windshield as well?
Congrats Jerry. Great start.
Very Cool!
I’ve got a 55 Buick Special. Was owned by a movie star many years ago, but we’ve had it since the late 60’s. It’s been garaged since the brakes went out a few years ago. Fixing it and getting it running are on my bucket list.
Sounds neat Dick. My youngest son got a 67 Mustang, when he was 15, we spent a whole summer with it up on stands working on brakes/etc. I HATE brake work! I had the tail lights re-plated, they were pot metal, that seems to cost more. Anyway, got new plastic lenses/gaskets and fixed them all up. Just got them back on. Will put stock springs on it soon to replace the ones the previous owner cut a coil off to lower it. Terrible ride and a bit unsafe, the way it can bounce over on a bump. Should make it more fun to drive.

Jerry, I’ve found these folks to be very helpful with my '65 Mustang. They have just about everything, and at reasonable prices, too.
He still has his 67 Mustang, needs to be re-done, but he has young kids and a daughter in college, so it mostly sits in the garage.
Here’s a test for you Jerry: http://www.americantorque.com/game/car-show-50s/
I think my memory is failing, I only got 85%…

Shame on you!
Well, hey, I only got 88%…I vaguely remember DeSotos…
Ha,
I guess I must be a Chevy guy. Got 100% of those correct.
But it went downhill from there…
However, they’re all before my time
Ralph
Got 100% on all of it. Almost blew the Mercury,s (I owned once a '52).
Lucky guess on a couple more.
Heard this song on the radio yesterday – hadn’t thought of it in years. Though maybe you Buick fanatics might get a kick out of it…

“I own a '48 Buick and it’s olive green…” hehehe
Well, I got 90% on that test. Not too bad, considering I paid more attention to trains than cars back then. My Dad had a 1955 Buick Roadmaster. Always thought Darth Vader’s mask/helmet resembled that car from the front.
Mik;
I still have the 45rpm version of that song in my record cabinet. I believe “Schlok Rod” is on the flip side. Somebody even gave me a 45rpm record with “The Wreck of Old 97” on it.
Best,
David Meashey
Not gonna tell you my score.
Wouldn’t be prudent.
Nope.
Fun test. I got an 83. I had trouble with the Henry J’s and Kaisers. I don’t remember anyone in my neighborhood having them. My brother was 16 when I was 8. He customized my mom’s '58 Pontiac convertible including a floor shifter that was higher than the dash! My mom sure looked cool driving that in her nurse’s uniform
Got 83%. Not bad
What a great restoration, Jerry. Should be a eye-catcher at the malt shoppe. The parents of one of my high school buddies had a '56 Century with the same color scheme and we used to take on all the other brands on the streets of Olaffub. BTW, and not to steal your thunder–I saw a restored '59 Vette like the one I sold for $1400 when I went overseas with the AF, on sale for $89 thou, which ain’t too bad considering what these cars go for at Barrett-Jackson, etc. I started telling the proprietor all about '59 Vettes (I knew the specs for all five 1959 models) and he said, “Boy, you sure know a lot about Corvettes.” Yah!
Better late than never, thanks for the game, Bruce. I got 94% because I don’t know my 50s Mercs. At 17, my favorite car was the '56 Plymouth Fury.
Dang I only got a 52%. ask me about late 60’s or 70s cars I kmow them better.
Well, now I feel a lot better scored way higher than Geoff, Hah LOL, but I had trouble with some of the other than Ford Chevy and Buicks got the study bakers too. Regal
