G Scale Central

I admit that I look in on GSC every now and then because a few of my UK acquaintances post there, and I always find time to read what they have to say, and if there is YT link, look at that an make a supportive comment, if I am able. Same goes for North American posters there, too

Like many there, and our latest noob, I also have a lot of 16mm stuff - all of it British outline, in particular the Welshpool & Llanfair and WHR - and since there is also the occasional G1 post from another pal on whose layout I often get to run, I look in on that, too.

It seems to be different than when it was run by a committee of one person, who kicked your a$$ off if you upset the foamers there, and bearing in mind my habit of speaking as I find, I’m pretty sure I’d last less than ten minutes if I dared join up again.

Who loses by that?

Well, me, obviously, but having a different POV and agenda should not get you dire messages in your PMs - these are toy trains we were discussing when I got banned there, not the Right to Life.

Hey tac,

Do they have a video section over there?

I’ll jump in here. Yes, there is a video heading.

Well, I sent another email to the site indicating that I am registered, but cannot log in, and no I don’t get a password reset email, and yes I know my email and my name.

Greg

Just had a look at the 1:1 video section

Hey, H-J - howja do that without registering?

tac,

You use the search function, answer three automated questions and proceed from there.
BTW Q2: Are you human? Q3: Does Rolls-Royce produce Fords?

…is Humpty Dumpty repaired yet ?

Well, that’s a pity about GSC and me, eh?

Never mind.

We move on.

Three or four of us here are going to be building a raised double track 45mm track of about 400 feet to fill the corner of our 7.25" track - see Fenland Light Railway.

Having such a track set up permanently will enable us to maximise the space we have there - along the lines of many other ride-on railways all over the place. Imagine something like the track at Zube Park in Houston, but much smaller.

It’s a shame that nobody from GSC will ever get to know about it - unless, of course any of the members here who are also THERE make a mention some time - as I know that there are more than few LS-ers in our county. I will, of course, be posting details in the 16mm Association bulletin, and here, in case any of you guys make the detour to rural East Anglai some time.

Regardless of who you are, or where you post, matters not a jot to me - we are all on this little train ride together, right?

Hmmm, have to think about Q2, let me get back to you…

Drat. I failed at Q2.

PS - when, if ever, are you going to try some 3D movies?

Any answers on the “Humpty-Dumpty” question ?

Fr. Fred, the answer to your question might lie here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0oKreL1jvkg

The reason I ask the question about Humpty-Dumpty, is that (Railroad content) he was hauled away in pieces, on a railroad flat car, by an LGB locomotive, which had to negotiate several R2 switches, and derailed.

It is common knowledge that the accident happened in East Anglia, and Humpty was to be repaired in Devon; home of “Devon Eggs”. Humpty was reputed to be the offspring, in the egg stage of a Devonshire Rook, not a common chicken, as often thought.

Any help in this matter, would be most appreciated, by children all over; missing his appearances at railroad events, all across the British Isles.

Here in Canada, the famous Railway promoter; “Le Chuff-Chuff”, was intent on obtaining the license for Humpty’s appearance in North America; during train shows in 2015. Humpty was/is a great promoter of Model Railways, as a hobby, for children and young adults…mature adults too.

I would appreciate it, if someone from GSC would post the above question on that forum, please…

You’ll get a life ban on GSC without ever having been a member, no kidding.
