When I first saw your video I wondered who would know to shoot at Afton Canyon. Then I remembered! It was sure fun seeing it in Cajon Pass!
Doug, I was in Cajon Pass but didn’t see you. But what a show! Were you anywhere near the wreck on 138 where two trucks rear-ended? I was up at Stine’s Curve with only 6-7 other people.
Several of us teamed up and shot stills and video that a good rail fan friend compiled into this video that tracks 4014 from Colton to Las Vegas:
Very nice work!
I was surprised that they have left hand running on double track. And that almost incessant wind was also a surprise. What a show!
I’ve been watching a lot of videos on this move. Can’t believe I just now notice the lead diesel is also 4014! Thanks for the link Art.

Jon, you need a larger TV
And Jon, 4014 is a 4-8-8-4. Guess what is the number of the UP diesel behind 4014? Coincidence?
Back in January, I started this thread and said that I would post some layout pictures taken with my UAV, or flying camera, once I could get around to them. So here are a few of a small part of a friend’s giant layout.
Really nice. I’m glad your coastal climate agrees with trees.
