Large Scale Central

First track on the CCRR

Guys, Today was the advent of track laying on the CCRR. I finally got the entire layout filled and have all the valleys, mountains and cuts put in. I’ll soon be a “real” outdoor railroader, as opposed to being an indoor runner for the last 26 years!  jb

How about a shot of that trestle? Looking good!

Sure, Ken! However, a layout under constructions is an eyesore, to be sure!  jb

If that’s an eyesore, I can’t wait until you are finished.
Looking real nice!

Hey John, it’s been almost long enough I almost forgot about that load of nice round boulders you “inherited”. Now what’s with that major chain from that pole to the little boat?

Oh yeah, tracks looking good, what’s the min rad?

Apparently, Swiss buccaneers have been looting, pillaging and cutting out small craft in the neighbourhood ... no Jungfrau is safe, either.

HJ,
That’s a log choke I found on the Columbia River bank years ago. There is a big cast ring on one end and a cast “T” shape doohickey on the other. It weighs about 50 lbs. It’s to keep that dingy from floating away!

Min Dia on the inner curve is 15’.
Outer curve is ??’ made with the Train-Li bender. So, prolly 15.5 or 16.

The right of way looks terrific! Very nice trestle too. That’ll be a very photogenic railroad.

Nice, especially the trestle! I also like the dark ballast.

The Chinese gangs have made it all the way to South Possum Peak.
They had to blast away quite a bit of rock.
I have more pics, but the freight shed won’t load them properly to my post…:frowning: :frowning:

Sorry guys, but now it’s deleting my pics if I try to rename them.
I’m going to dump the whole lot and reload them again.
I’ll try to get pics up again.

Jerry, Mine too! That's why I had Bob do all the work. I might have used a big steel bar for nudging, but that's about it. :) :)
