Large Scale Central

Feels like 105 Degrees here, Humid and Nasty!

Ive pretty much had enough of the Heat for this year already, Feels like 105 Degrees with the Humidity. Drink lots of water boys it’s hot out, but the A/C feels nice though.

The weather is sucking big time as of late… Bring on the fall weather !!!

 Dam it’s hot…

Nick,Here in ct. its the same way, every day it gets worse. It tacks your breath away! I don’t have ac but my rec room is cool. Regards,Ron:p

Temps here in southern illinois yesterday was 98, with a heat index of 105… Same is scheduled for today…

Yup…temp inside my office has already hit 83 degrees…of course our AC units burned out on Monday of this week and are scheduled to be replaced NEXT Monday!

I think actual air temp outside today is due to hit 97, looks like I am taking a long lunch at home in my central AC!

Hit a high of 91 yesterday with a heat index of 102. Today I’m up to 92 with a heat index of 107. Been spending most of the days in the pool and running trains in the evening. We have window AC units but no central air. Normally we don’t need it in these parts. Its not common to have central air.

Im so glad I have the week off. Not fun wearing a bullet proof vest in this weather.

Official temp at the weather station is 98. Thermometer here in the shade says 102, and 67% humidity.

Yuck.

75 here in Carlsbad, CA… Well, everyone likes to make fun of California… go ahead…

Greg

Welcome to the new reality,

Greg may be correct about it being nice right now, but we too have been getting hotter each summer with much much more humidity during the summer months than I can ever remember growing up here. Summers here used to be in constant drought conditions with summers being mostly very dry heat and arid Santa Ana winds, but we too are now getting more humid summers and associated heat rise. Thunder and lighting are getting more common also.

Big bump in humidity due this weekend, can hardly wait…oh joy!

I like California, but if you insist…

The weather here in beautiful Deer Park is cooler than I remember, and has been for the last few years.

Climate is what you expect, and weather is what you get. I think we can blame Mark Twain for that witticism.

So I guess I’m the only one that is lovin’ the heat. It might be 90 degrees and a bit humid right now in tropical Buffalo, But you won’t catch me complaining about the weather. At least not until January, when its 7 degrees and lake effect snow!!! I just about got my major backyard renovation project done this week thanks to Mother Natures little heat tantrum. I wish it could have been a bit warmer here in April- I could have started a month earlier, and I’d be sittin’ poolside at the bar all this week!! For those of you in the snowy regions- enjoy the summer- train season is too short!

111 Degree’s Here in the beautiful Hudson Valley NY… I’m out. As most people know I’m a very

Quiet and to myself none confrontational person. But My Girlfriend said today that it seemed as

thou I had Some Heat related issues??? What go figure. Me Mr nice Guy

You betcha …LOL

too short of a season. Winter is a great time to run. You don’t sweat, no bugs, no weeding, no grass cutting, great steam plumes, plow tracks, its doesn’t get better.

90ºF; 28% humidity. Routines get adjusted as required. No sweat!

I’m enjoying the heat after what seems like months of rain
It finally feels like Summer and the nightly swim after work is friggin fantastic
Ralph

Ralph …we all saw the triple rainbow over your house on the radar!

Relief is on the way …kinda funny the boys head north and the cold front moves south this weekend .

Sure, it feels great until the hills are on fire or the ground starts moving, or worse both at once

Hot as heck here today. Had to do a fair bit of outdoor work yesterday and today; not fun. This afternoon I had to port over our PBX to a new provider. Should have taken 30 minutes but took 3 hours and the Telco room is not air conditioned. Yuck is right.

Unconditioned Telco room? Wow, that’s the second place that gets HVAC after the server room. Is there hardware in the telco room, or just terminations?

Greg

Lots of hardware…

Full rack of VOIP/PBX equipment

Half Rack of network switch / patch equipment

Management console PC for the PBX

Plus the electric meters for 30 apartments and the house panels for the floor.

When the room was built I requested a vented door and an air handler to circulate the conditioned air from the common area through the room; that would at least keep it reasonable year round. My employer refused due to cost.

It is an interior room with concrete walls on 2 sides, drywall on the other two. It’s comfy in winter, but in summer can get well over 80. Amazing we have not lost any equipment in 6 years of operation.

This is a residential building, not a commercial enterprise.

I hear you… I spec out the network closet in our new buildings… I used to ask for a vent in the bottom of the door and an exhaust fan in the ceiling, now I spec a supply and return.

PBX equipment used to be pretty bulletproof, but the new VOIP stuff is usually an oem computer running linux and no better temp handling than a desktop pc.

Well, if it does not break, then they will tell you they made the right decision.

If it does break, somehow it will be your fault!
