Feels like 105 Degrees here, Humid and Nasty!

You got that right Greg -

Right now I’m fighting with a new router. Low-end Cisco RV-180. I should have searched out the known issues before I bought it. Darn thing is sucking 60% of the WAN bandwidth in processing overhead with only one user connected.

Wish I hadn’t sold the high-end Cisco that was sitting here idle a few years ago. It would be the perfect fit now.

Hear you big time… luckily the CEO of my company likes overkill and backups like I do, and computers are his hobby.

I went from a pair of Sonicwall 4000 series routers to some really nice Fortigate models.

When I change over to VOIP, will most likely be using all Cisco or Juniper layer 3 switches and all vlans to combine 3 networks on one physical cable.

I’ve been happy with the sonicwall TZ series for our branches, but they only have from 20 to 60 people online at a time, plus maybe a 16 channel DVR streaming vga resolution video.

Not super high bandwidth, but works well. The Sonicwall stuff is very easy to set up, and are very efficient at site-to-site vpn, which is our mainstay to access our business application.

Anyway, I’m sure I’ve derailed the hell out of this thread…

Cold here in San Diego today, was about 73 degrees…

Greg

Another beautiful day in the Okanagan Valley, Beautiful British Columbia (says so on the licence plates!).

Get out early enough when the air is still cool, the dogs frisky and ready for a swim. While it gets hot (sometimes just a tad over 100ºF), it very seldom gets humid. And the beach is a 5 minute walk downhill in the park.

That’s why I don’t get upset, besides we have AC and life is too short to … oops, can’t say that!

Back to SWMBO’s computer to install software, then to the garden to place rocks, after that building more turnouts in the garage.

My youngest is trying to convince us to move to the Rockies where the air is dry. At the rate we are cleaning up our 22 year mess in this house it will be another 10 years before we are ready to move. He was married in June after being out of the house for 3 years. He came home the week after being married for about 6 hours to cherry pick some belongings and left us with 19 years of toys and junk to clean up. We’ve been at it for three weeks and can finally see parts of the floor in his bedroom. Unfortunately, much of it is now in the living room as we organize it all.

Hey Jon,

What you need is a holiday to light a bonfire.
