Large Scale Central

Fall

It was time to run a train. Brought out the 4-4-0 American and ran an inspection train. The American finds any flaws in the track quickly. After a couple circuits and a few tweeks, the 4-4-0 was making the circuit unattended at a little over half throttle. Not too fast in the flats, but enough to pull the steep grade. Have to go mow some grass now, but hope to run another train this evening. Ralph

Thanks for the run Ralph. Looking good

That loco is a Beauty

The 4-4-0 is the nicest loco in my stable. I really like the rail truck I got from you, too. This is probably the last run for the Buddy L. I fixed the power issues. But even with lead in the boiler, I’m having a lot of wheelspin. It will probably be regulated to “yard prop” duty. Ralph

Cropped this photo just a bit. Hard to shoot photos with bright sun and dark shadows. Still have to “decorate” the American. There’s a nice shot of some pretty spiffy USMRR Americans on Shorpy. Ralph

Your layout looks great, Ralph. Nice shots! It’s an even better picture if you straighten it…

Great shots Ralph. Layout and rolling stock look great. I had the same issue with my Buddy L. kept slipping. Our trees are full of color up this way. Frost warning out for tomorrow morning. I mowed my lawn for the last time about a week ago. Growing season is done here. Im hosting a club meeting on my layout tomorrow will ppost some pictures here. Thanks for the pics

Nice shots Ralph!
Is this the official Fall thread then?

That does look good, Bruce. I usually don’t do anything to the photos. 95% of em I just post straight up.

I had the club meeting at my house today. Perfect weather. One of the guys brought a live steam engine to run. I fell in love with it. Ran great on my layout. Will post pictures tomorrow.

No…post them NOW!

Sorry Rooster for not posting sooner but a romantic evening with the hot wife comes first LOL Here are a few shots of the live steamer running on the KMRR. It is an accucraft Ida that has been redone both in and out. It ran great. Pictures not great too much sun light.
